Most are being mothballed for spares, some will be scrapped. The very odd one may be saved and restored. A company called "Harry Needle" i think owns them. They are scrap merchants say no more...
Its a sad fact of life to see these once common locomotives now rotting away in yards as they yield to the likes of the "ten-a-penny" Class 66's. Its a shame that Britain doesn't make its own Locomotives and Rolling Stock anymore.
what a sorry sight to think how long these take to build and how quickly they can rip them apart, ashame suppliers stopped making parts for these beasts.
Yes they are still there. I believe they belong to Harry Needle (scrap dealer) which is right next door to Barrow hill. Next to the Deltic preservation society shed....
On the contrary Vader. Boring as they may be, Diesels are not evil. Their just another type of locomotive. But yes, I'm not saddened by seeing diesels left for scrapping either, though rusting steamers do make me sad.

So many of them, and so much wastage. In parts alone from that yard, you could probably have at least two live ones

As sad as it is to see any machinery rusting, to be cut apart, I am not saddened by these evil diesels in a scrap yard.
