  • You can't say they didn't get with the whole 'robot' theme xD

  • Kraftwerk, so clever, so original, so great. And they didn't give a f*** :-)

  • I love their model robots just casually sitting in the audience. Although the group were charged for the seats after there awesome performance.

  • E N O R M E

    :)

  • I love this band but they are clearly miming along to the record. Lame.

  • @themanamp It was tv channels ways of saving money and time .. bands in those days didnt have a choice ...

  • the crowd clapping is annoying as fuck

  • Audience thinks: "wtf?!" :D

  • Excellent!

  • Imagine sitting front row besides one of the robots....... Awesomeness gallore!!!!!

  • And who is on the first places of the hall?)))) Mannequins of Kraftwerk members? Cool idea!

  • It's an amazing thing, this broadcast, because the image that western have/had of soviet tv, was that they never show or in a worst case, forbid, modern western music, which seems not to be the case.

  • @rupertopesto

What do you mean? Venice is in Italy and this show was broadcasted on italian TV.

  • @vanelektrik I know where is Venice...but the point is not if were broadcasted by the RAI, the point is that the description of this uploaded video (aside Club lido, Venice, october 1978) clearly says "Originally Broadcasted by USSR TV at 1980", did you read it?

  • @rupertopesto

Oh sorry, my bad. I have overlooked that part of the description. Now I know what you mean, that`s interesting indeed.

  • I love their "anti rockstar" live performances...like this...they are fucking awesome!!!

  • Brilliant! I was reading Wolfgang's book and had to look this up...so glad it's here. I love that they had the nuts to put the dummies in the seats, although to hear Wolfgang tell it, they didn't realize that it would be a big deal (but something tells me they were a little too aware.)

I highly reccomend the book ("I Was A Robot")...und reading it vis a zexy German accent. Now if only there were footage of Wolfgang dancing with Ian Dury...

  • superb fantastic awsomeness

  • This must be the gig Wolfgang Fluer is talking about in his book and the TV-Docu I`ve uploaded.

After the show Kraftwerk had to pay the expensive seats for the robots in the audience. :D

    Thanks for uploading

  • Ralf realy looks like a robot especially when he turns his head =)

  • are these 4 the original kraftwerk??

  • Yes, original and classic line up

  • @rmfigue No. The classic line up, not the original. The line up on their first LP: Hutter, Schneider, Hohmann, Dinger.

  • @rmfigue the original line up had a drummer and alongside Ralf & Florian

  • No but two of them are the original two, and as rmfigue says these four could be called the "classic" line-up.

  • OUTSTANDING !!!

Thanx for this fantastic up-loading and

    sharing !!!

  • This is amazing. These guys were ahead of their time when they made this.

  • WAY ahead !

  • WE ARE THE ROBOT!!!

  • lol! great stuff :-)

  • The thing that allways thrills me about kraftwerk is, that they were far, far ahead of their time.

  • Great video! But the sound quality becomes in 2:30 a bit lower.

  • What a gem! Should have been an extra feature on their DVD.

    Thanks for sharing

  • Yes, but the voices are real! :-) Kraftwerk is the best band in the world!

  • yes ~but~ Klaus NOMI ~uber under-STANDS~ above A L L ! !!! a-MAN

  • the mensch-maschine concept was earlier than the Nomi Work

  • Idd, Ralf's dummie looks bored like: Ohman not this songs again :')

  • Absolutely amazing!!! Wolfgang wrote about this performance in his book. So funny,Ralf's puppet in the audience looks so 'bored' lol

  • At the same day I am happy and sad.. This amazingly important video pups up! Thank you!

I have understood Stephan Pfaff is now a replacement for Florian Schneider 2008, first in the USA gigs. Florian is a brilliant operator, master of intelligibility on Vocoders..master of studio perfection. I hope he still works in the Kling Klang studio.

  • Wow,never seen this before.Most excellent!

  • Thank you for sharing this video

  • Quite brilliant.

  • well it's a playback, but still entertaining! kraftwerk rules!

  • FANTASTIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • я твой слуга, я твой робот !

  • masterpiece

  • Fantastic!!!! never seen this one before!!! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you!

  • This song was played at underground disco parties at-45 rpm I have this record but never seen video cool!

  • comme c'est amusant il fallait la rigidité de la méthode allemande pour créé une telle musique et l'ouverture italienne pour autant apprécié le résultat BRAVO

  • I can confirm, this show was in Venice october 1978.

  • hey ppl is this playback ???

  • of course!

  • This is from a TV show called NOSTALGIA, which indicates that it's from the post-Soviet era. The characters are fake cyrillic, so this broadcast is most probably not Russian and not from 1980. Does anyone know where and when this later broadcast was?

  • yeah, recently re-broadcasted by Nostalgia TV Show, originally by USSR TV Show at 1980

  • Thanks for replying, rmfigue. Which country/network is broadcasting the Nostalgia show? Did you tape it yourself?

  • No, I didn't

Original ripper is from Russia, I think Nostalgia TV Show is from there

  • Oh forgot to mention also it was originally from October of 1978.

  • beautiful.

    kraftwerk = genius.

  • This was at Club Lido in Venice for the Eurovision Song Contest

  • Thanks for the info!

  • Wonder if they practiced their stagemoves together.. HMM..
