hey about the roumors of kevin having like 60 mills, obviously not true, however I'm sure they are getting big money! how can you have a 200,000-250,000 audience and not be making big money out of it!?

they dont make big money b/c while they do have 200K to 250K veiwers a week, veiwers dont make you money unless the veiwer subscribes for cash. they charge about 10K per ad but the bandwidth for that many people on the website costs almost that much. especially when one episdoe streamed can be 100MB of bandwidth.

after doing the math (200K viewers times 100MB bandwidth per veiwer divided by 1000 to make it into GB), its 20000GB of bandwidth per week...since bandwidth is usually paid on a monthly basis, thats 80000GB of bandwidth a month.

since theres like 2 or three sponsers an ep....they get 120K a month on ads minus bandwidth cost then split between all the people who work at diggnation...it is a good amount of cash but not even close to millionaire.

THey charge 10K per episode to MOST , but the cachefly ad at the head end of the show PAYS FOR ALL OF THEIR BANDWIDTH. The GoDaddy ad PAYS FOR THE REVISION 3 DOMAIN.

People like it because of that "amateur" feel you get from it. It's the same reason people like reality shows and game shows: it doesn't seem scripted. I've seen some of Kevin Rose's other projects, and those are scripted (you can see outtakes from them on the site), but I'm not sure about Diggnation. They don't seem like they're scripted, which winds up resulting in what you'd see on Diggnation. They're probably just doing that.

Oh well. To each his own, yeah? :)

Not at all the same reason - not even close. They basically have a producer (prager) that sends them network messages to their laptops when he feels they have exhauseted a subject. The "script" is the wisdom of prager. So, basically, doom.
