Outlook's support of internet calendars is only as a VIEWER, it's neither integration nor synchronisation.
My disappointment is that Outlook cannot edit my Google calendar, whereas my iPhone can. To get an item into my Google calendar therefore, I create it in Outlook, then use my iPhone to switch it into Google.
Come on Microsoft, stop being so pathetically useless!
thank you. very informative. how do you add your public calendar to your all calendar items. I see the google calendar, my calendar, but the public calendar is still in the public folder.
The video is ok, it's just annoying that you can't actually update the calendar from within Outlook....which makes it a pretty much useless as you have exit Outlook and go to Google calendar in a browser to make any changes.
But usefull for those who just want a read only calendar.
I take issue with jonasion describing this as "Synchronisation". Calendar synchronisation is normally (IMHO) used to describe a process where calendars on two separate platforms are made the same - i.e. a change on one platform is reflected on the other by 'synchronisation'. I think 'integration' IS a better way to describe this.
But I do agree with his comments about the presentation. For the "number one resource for outlook training" this is a very poor advert for their services.
This is NOT google calendar and outlook 2007 INTEGRATION, but rather SYNCHRONIZATION.
Apart from that the presenter talks way too much - information overflow - and thus, the video is too long if you consider how specific the subject is, it delves into all sorts of other details...
Eventually got there but you have a really confusing way of explaining the simplest tasks.
