why is it that when I press '3B' (down-right) to shove the opponent into the air, sometimes the opponent flies so far up into the air and sometimes he's just pushed into over a short distance? I want to do the move at 0:22 but I always press B+DOWN too early cuz he flew too far up... why?

The reasons you don't say "X + B" or "Square + Circle" are because those buttons are console-controller-specific, they're not how the buttons were labeled on the arcade machines or in the game's command menus, and they can be reconfigured by the player. You had it right with "8A+K."
Check your keyboard's numpad. Its a designation of thumbstick movement direction from a player one, "character on the left" perspective. Arrows

@metalsabatico its a "Just" attack. i believe that when you hit 4 you just need to hit B at the same time. but PERFECT timing. not something to rely on in a battle but rather a nice bonus if you do manage to pull it off mid-combat

Exactly my point. Cervantes was an original character in his own creative lague before POTC. Back then, Namco was thinking for themselves and gave him dignity and stature. That he was undead was just a very cool afterthought.
Then, with SC4, they turned towards fanservice and popularized their characters. With POTC about as mainstream as you can get, it influence the new Cervy heavily, turning him into a thinly veiled Davey Jones. Now he's obnoxious, haggard and ignobel.
The depth of a character is not a matter of how he is drawn. Doesn't matter if Cervantes stars in a real-life movie, a CG, anime, or even as a talking bear in a hanna Barbera cartoon, the behaviour of the old SC2 Cervantes is just so much more difnified and less cheesy then Davy friggin' Jones.

His gold bird-mask costume is straight from Soul Calibur 1, he's always been an undead pirate with a pistol in his oversized main gauche, he always said stuff like "Come with me to Hell!" and "I'll consume your soul!" or whatever, and he always had magical teleportation and fly-around-the-ring moves. None of this is new, he just has more detail in his clothing now.
Don't own a playstation and I've only played Soul Calibur 2, but even now do I reckognize many of old man cervantes' moves. 789 456 123 Designation of direction. Check your keyboard's numpad. B: Vertical sword attack A: Horizontal sword attack K: Kick attack G: Guard button ? + ? Combine two keys ? > ? Two individual moves forming a combo. ? : ? Moves linked to eachother's execution.

ive been watching. alot of these things i was going to put in Vol 3.
Including a variation of the last combo, but I had more added onto the end.
Sadly alot of these things wont work after the patch.
Vol 3. is indefinitely on hold for now. maybe one day in the future i will surprise the cervantes fans again.
