Prison sentences are ultimately supposed to act as a deterrent to committing crimes to begin with. That doesn't seem to deter people from making the choice to ruin their lives with drugs or committing other real crimes. While I think people should be able to make that choice...it is still a bad choice when one can't handle the responsibility to use drugs "reasonably", whatever that means. Not only is it an issue about drugs, but the bigger issue is personal responsibility.
