Quite a different approach from what I'm used to - it gives it a different dimension. Personally, though, I prefer a more ephemeral performance of this piece. Let's say, more of Byrd-type than a Verdi-type choir...
I do kinda agree with you i think it is a little to fast... cause i am used to the recording that is 10:30 long so. where they get to the climax one of the sopranos kinda was a little too loud, she stuck out too much, if ya know what i mean. But i love this piece regardless
@tylermatthewmarz The progression of their voice especially the sopranos from soft to loud was done too early. I like the rendition of Mormon Tabernacle Choir more. The MOTAB rendered this song in pianissimo.
This group sounds a little sharp, but that may because they are trying desperately to keep up with the conductor. This should be a slower piece. Fascinating dynamics, good blend. My only real objection is one soprano slamming into the high note at the climax. If ya can't hit it, don't do it. Just my opinion.
you have no idea what you are talking about. this is polyphonic music with many transitions. that transition is what you call "off key" to the untrained ear.
I totally agree. I found the orchestral piece one of the most haunting things I ever heard. Then I ran into this and discovered that the human voice could go one better.
One of the most perfect performances of this Choral masterpiece. I still prefer the orchestral Adagio for Strings but this was nonetheless as hauntingly ethereal
i agree with brasso30. clear

If our existence on this earth and all the human race has endured could be expressed as emotion through music i feel this would be the piece.

the tempo is too fast and too much vibratos...
brasso30 3 years ago 6
hmmmm I would have to disagree I think the vibratos is what the song needed but meh your opinion.

PERFECT dynamics, This preformance was a joy to listen to. It really shows what a human voice can achieve if trained correctly.

pour faire de tels changements dynamiques, il faut avoir des chanteurs à la hauteur :(( My god it's flat
