Basic facts: Mohammed was a military leader and conqueror. Muslims are instructed to follow his example, and conquest is an intrinsic part of what Islam teaches.

The fundamental problem is the nature of Islam, not some modern-day organisation causing trouble. There are many reform groups, but I doubt they get good support from us. (They don't have oil, and can't directly impact terrorism). It is important to keep global communications open, and provide educational material.
