  • brilliant track anyway

  • I don't get this. What's the remastering? I know I'm being a bit fick sorry.

  • Playing & production on the drums of that tune are so refined, so smooth,so efficient, so subtle, so groovy, so clever and my love of music is clearly related to these drums.

  • Yes!!

  • simply beautiful....thank you

  • I am so glad that I am not alone in adoring this beautiful soundscape. (When I was younger people thought I wsa a little odd liking this kind of stuff). The subtle keyboard and guitar effects are gorgeous, and of course the lilting drums and bass. Excellent work Dexbam. Simple Minds rule!

  • thank you very much for to musickkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • great series of images my friend works really well, Jim K was a goth before there were goths imagine that. Experimental solo from Herbie Hancock

  • Simply remarkable job on this. I was @ The Ritz show in NYC for the N.G.D. tour. This was the opener with the band off the stage. Amid white and lavender lights and smoke machines. Like heaven on earth.

  • would like this played at my funeral......................but obviously not for a long time yet(LOL)

  • excellent

  • I'd say in a responsible way, this is my favorite song, not from SM but from them all. Its' in my Iphone and I play it almost everyday. I heard it first time 1987. 24 years love affair.

  • Affecting. Great work all round - band, remastery, tea-ladies - the whole kit and caboodle. Magnificent.

  • during their New Gold Dream tour of Australia in 1982 they would play this song LOUD over the PA.. before they came on stage..was the perfect mood setter before a gig..

  • BEAUTIFUL SM INSTRUMENTAL HERE........

  • Nice upload! This really takes me back to my teens! I wish they (SM) made more ambient instrumental music like this.

  • Mike Ogletree, Its great to see you posting on here you are truly a wonderfull skins man What the hell was it like to play on such an iconic album like this?

    Just suscribed to your channel

    cheers Dave, Stockport, Cheshire.

  • Hey Dexbam, nice remastering! However, a correction to your notes. The line up for this track from New Gold Dream 81-82-83-84 is Charlie Burchill, Mick MacNeil, Derek Forbes and Mike Ogletree (yours truly). Neither Mel Gaynor or Kenny Hyslop, the other 2 drummers on the album, contributed to this track and Brian McGee was not on this album. An easy mistake to make considering the hard-to-read-small-print of the liner notes and the different drummers the band has had over the years. All the best.

  • @blaxcot good to know, thank you very much! I've changed the ''infowindow'' now.

Mike plays wonderfull in this track, a great drummer. And with this album (a milestone) forever a immortal legend, my deepest respect and thank you very much for your words.

  • @blaxcot Hey Mike Steve from Toronto ... your drum beat on this track is trance inducing. Easily one of my favorite SM songs..

  • @blaxcot Well, good job on the drums.

One of my fave SM songs!

  • @blaxcot Fab! x

  • @blaxcot Fab! x

  • @blaxcot Fab! x

  • @blaxcot Fab! x

  • @blaxcot That's interesting. I've listened to nothing but the drums on this so many times. What sort of snare is it being played in the main/verse part? It has such a cool sound. Love it.

  • @blaxcot

straight from the scottish horses mouth! Thanks for putting things clear as, as you say, the sleeve notes were all too confusing! A great TRANCE tune... Metronomic but with swing... magical keyboards, tasteful guitar licks, trance bass... ALL a feast for the soul. From Argentina... GRACIAS!

  • thanks dexbam amazing sound this end as ever, keep it up mate..

  • how do you do it dexbam the sound is amazing this end mate ,cheers mate ..

  • this is one amazing track from the new gold dream album!

  • Simple MImds instrumentals are classics! this in my opinion is second behind Theme For Great Citirs?

  • where did it all go so wrong?

    Puristically speaking, just about nowish.

Somebody up there liked them so much more pre-1981.

  • ohhhhh...such an heavenly sound....best times ever...I love you dearly.

  • New Gold Dream, best album ever made.

    Eternal sounds...

  • this really is the sound of heaven, indeed!

  • Our time xxxxx

  • This is the sound of heaven - timeless ethereal and moving ever forward, forever. SM's could do no wrong Once Upon A Time...

  • @gwalj ===YOU GOT IT. Simple Mind's instrumentals are just erethreal.....just beautiful. SM will forever be my favorite band. I saw the Once Upon A Time Tour, long time ago! I was sweet sixteen.

  • scene :25-where is that? I recall a similar background with The Chameleons.

  • Definitely visited by THEIR muse. ohmigod why didn't the buggers stick to this vibe. Absolutely gorgeous. What a waste. Another great band gone in three albums. Sad.

  • Incredible sound quality for youtube, most videos have a weak sound or are loud but with a distorted and saturated sound I have posted some Simple Minds audios and the sound quality was miles worse. All Simple Minds instrumentals are wonderful BTW.

  • One thing that everybody should do is listen to this song and just listen to Charlie Burchill's guitar. BRILLIANT!!! A great tune indeed. It couldn't have been done without the keyboards though.

  • FANTASTIC.

  • Another great remaster, and this time a great video too. This has to be one of my SM favourites. We are so lucky to have this.

  • New Gold Dream is probably my favourite album of all time and Derek and Mike really pulled it off on this song... love it

Turn it up and put lifein reverse

  • Een geweldig nummer instrumental.

  • I love that!

  • Somebody up there likes you...

Dedicated To Mascha, Morgane, "Sirens" Incantation Féminine 16 Jul 2009

  • Dex: - you make the best Simple Minds vids on you tube. I'll have to get my act together and put some out myself. The competition might raise your efforts to even greater heights lol.

  • Have just seen your work after it was linked on fan website - your videos are absolutely brilliant - don't stop

  • Excellent, your doing a class job, again you bring the track back to life, loved it, thanks for a great post.

  • thank you.. for this..

  • sm you are simply the best

  • hey guys ;o thank you very much for your praising comments ! :)

  • Outstanding! Man, what a good way to start my day - just the beat I needed to get me going and feeling good about the days potential! Thanks "cjmcge" & "Dexbam" for the UP vibe, re-mix, and forward!!

  • cannot get enough of this D !

  • How was the concert???????? Do tell! Ears are waiting!

  • it was great! The boys were absolutely on form ....Jim was at the happy smiley pills again : ) The crowd were great although I don't think it was a sell-out.....didn't matter they played a solid two hours the crowd lapped it up!

  • Only two tracks were weak for me Diff World+This Is It...all the other GS stuff worked a treat.....the rest really great....Children of the rev was actually ok although if it was me I would have done Jeepster or Get It On .....Best comic bit was when Jim's mic went flying out of his hand as he was gyrating....didn't bat an eye just stayed dancing like a spritely Pan's Person until the stage-hand had recovered the mic.....Class! lol !....now on to Edinburgh!!!!

  • Once again, an amazing audio remaster. Thanks Dexbam.
