In the 1970's we are supposed to be headed for a mini-ice age because we were putting too many hydrocarbons into the air. We were told that the hydrocarbons were blocking the sunlight and it was causing the planet to cool. A few years later, libs wanted catalytic converters put all all cars to reduce a car's exhaust to carbon dioxide and water vapor to cut pollution.

Scientists are now watching for the first spot of the new solar cycle to appear. The 11 year long solar cycle is marked by 2 extremes, solar minimum and maximum. Solar minimum is the period of least solar activity in the solar cycle of the sun.
During this time sunspot and solar flare activity diminishes.
When spots begin to appear on the sun once again, scientists know that the sun is heading into a new season of extreme solar activity. At the cycle's peak, solar maximum, the sun is continually peppered with spots, solar flares erupt, and the sun hurls billion-ton clouds of electrified gas into space.
Solar maximum is often compared to the hurricane season here on Earth. Violent solar events, like flares and coronal mass ejections,

In the 1970's we are supposed to be headed for a mini-ice age because we were putting too many hydrocarbons into the air. This conclusion was arrived at because of the frequent and deep snows we would get once or twice a week. We were told that the hydrocarbons were blocking the sunlight and it was causing the planet to cool. A few years later, libs wanted catalytic converters put all all cars to reduce a car's exhaust to carbon dioxide and water vapor to cut pollution.

Water vapor is now a greenhouse gas, which is an absurd idea. Do we stop the oceans from evaporating to make them more "green" and "Earth friendly?" Neither is carbon dioxide really a poison. Plants take it in and give back oxygen. We breathe it out and exchange it for oxygen, it's just a normal part of respiration.

If you are going to quote political leaders who are not scientists why not quote Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger from California which has a much larger economy and population than the Czech Republic.

It was a Canadian law suit; he sued a Canadian paper in the oil capital of Canada and he had to back down. Calgary newspapers are by no mean hostile toward the oil industry.

Data allows everyone, even those intellectually challenged or politically agendized to draw their own conclusions.
Unlike your inaccurate posts carmex/StopLib, you present no data to dispute the science.
Therefore, it is reasonable to conclude you are here to "spin" and "confuse" and to occupy the front page.
That tactic can be found in section 31, part 18 par 84 of your field manual.

I believe that climate change is real, a major threat, and almost surely has a major human-induced component. But I have tried to stay out of the `climate wars' because all nuance tends to be lost, and the distinction between what we know firmly, as scientists, and what we suspect is happening, is so difficult to maintain in the presence of rhetorical excess.

Separate records of sunspots, auroral activity (the Northern Lights) and terrestrial deposits of certain substances generated in atmospheric reactions triggered by solar output, suggest the Sun was persistently active prior to the onset of this Little Ice Age, as scientists call the event.
Solar activity was lowest during the 17th Century, when Earth was most frigid.

Gas hasn't increased gradually over time.
Gas spiked after `73 because OPEC punished countries that supported Israel in the Yom Kippur war.
It spiked again in 2003 after Bush invaded Iraq.
The remaining time, oil averaged ~$20/barrel with no significant increase during the interim years.

Irag violated numerous UN sanctions. Saddam was making a mockery of the treaty that he signed. He was also frequently shooting at our planes in the no fly zone. Several nations thought that he had weapons of mass destruction, and it still isn't clear if he did or not. The members of congree must be gullible,because Bush was able to fool almost all of them into voting for "his war". Conspiracy theories like yours are used when facts aren't known.

Thatch, we went to war because Bush deliberately misled congress & UN about "an imminent threat" that the intel simply did not support. By intel, I'm NOT talking about Feith's twisted "intel products" illegally coming out of the "policy" office.
Whether he was a "bad man" or violating sanctions is irrelevant, since they were NOT the justification Bush used to get Congressional, UN and citizen support.
