If you look carefully at the shot beginning at 0:11 you will see that the editor has flipped the negative over, so the train appears to be heading left to right so as to better match following shot. Unfortunately this meant the Cannonball Express name-plate is back-to front.
I read Casey worked with African Americans Saunders & Webb; Saunders sang the Ballad of Casey, bringing through Jones fame. So WHY is this series looking SO whitey ??? ???
Hahaha!!! My deceased mother used to tell me that once when I was a baby she heard me screaming in the living room. She ran to see what happened. I was terrified at that train that looked like it would run out of the screen and run right over me! LOL!!!!
Huh, never saw this show as a kid in the 1960's. Got to say the Skipper from the Island looks just like his dad Casey. Wonder why Casey's son went to sea instead of trying the rail road biz like his pa.
One of the very best TV Shows of the 1950s .. & what I regard as the best TV intro song / theme of all time. But .. I'm biased, 'cause I grew up on this fabulous show. Listen to those fabulous harmonies .. & a great melody !! I still know all the words .. & I could do the Cannonball Train Whistle down-pat .. at least I did, until my voice broke ...
I simply loved that show, still do, my grandchildren will discover these old shows just as soon as I can get the dvd's. Thanks for the upload

@Landulphcounter: You and me both mate, I expect there were young boys everywhere singing the theme tune when the show started.
My confession is my friend and me both wanted to be Casey jr, he seemed to have a great life ,lol . Life seemed very simple back then...

Wow! Haven't heard or seen that for an age, though to tell the truth the theme is more memorable than the series. Good work Crazy Monkey!
