  • in all the old Russian choir, Cossack choir, there were powerful basso Profondos, an old Russian tradition, among other things also because you did not use organs in Russian churches therefore the voices had to cover the entire octave range

  • Okay, Peter Steele definately is a baritone when compared to this.

  • i can sing this

  • My heart aches to think that never again shall the earth hear the voice of Mr. Vladimir Pasjukov in person... and from this very recording I had guessed that Mr. Pasjukov may have known a little more about the struggles of age, pain, and suffering than his fellow profondos. But I think that he knows now the fullness of the answer to this heartfelt prayer... and will delight the saints, the angels, and his Creator down through eternity with his joyful, "profound" praise.

  • What's that? A death growl without a growl

  • Rest in Peace =///

Now you are singing with the angels, and praying for all Orthodox Christian!

  • I didn't know he died ... :(

I wanted to see him in person.

RIP, he was a great man, may the ground above his grave tremble, because of his voice.

  • @TehJozze ditto! RIP

  • The saddest news since the death of Lazslo Pulgar

  • @paolodicorno I was very sad when I learnt about Mr. Polgar's death. He was a special favorite operatic bass of mine.

  • RIP MY HERO !

  • sorry, I'm not sure f I got it right, are Vladimir Miller and Vladimir Pasjukov the same person?

  • @Shogunmiyuchan Of course they are not the same person. Why would they? They don't even have the same surename! They are both basso profondos, but it's quite easy to distinguish their voices from each other.

  • @gudpeder Vladimir pasjukov was lower, and darker.here as vladimir miller can go kind of high

  • @fuitbag But Mr. Pasjukov could sing with great power and musicianship notes above the staves. Just listen to his version of "Twelve brigands": at 3'32'' or something like that, you may hear a musical earthquake.

  • Riposa in pace Vladimir.

  • TuT so beautiful...

  • Imagine how awkward he was as a teenager.

  • @NotSoNewJesus He probably did'nt have that range as a teenager

  • May he rest in peace. His outstanding majestic voice offered a new world to me and always inspired me in a great spiritual way which I can`t discribe. I´ll honor his present to us in a very respectful way!

  • @DonSchanteloni I feel exactly the same

  • Rest in peace. The voice of God returns to Him.

  • OMG... Rest in peace...

  • Pasjukov... dead? May the Lord reject him not...

  • @Gandalf930 Indeed. He deservet to be accepted by the Lord.

  • He sings with the angels now...R.I.P.

  • I can just agree: Every basso in the world will weep with you. He inspires me every time I hear records from him. Thank God for him and his wonderful voice!

  • My sincere condolences to you and the family. I and every basso in the world weeps with you. Your grandfather inspired us all!

  • My sincere condolences to you and the family. I and every basso in the world weeps with you. Your grandfather inspired us all!

  • Never mind you didn't understand me.

I'm so sorry he is diet.

Condolences. May he rest in peace.

  • @sandrochka88 Are you serious? :D You are so lucky! Have you got his voice?

  • @gudpeder of caurse i have all disc with his voice! but today i cry all day! he is very ill now. he so weak so he cant talk more.

  • Comment removed

  • @sandrochka88 Sorry I haven't read your latest post yet. That scared me a bit of it.

I wish you and him get well soon.

  • @Elsynore don't understand you!((( he have never tell more((((

  • As a Bass 2, I'm jealous that his projection is so amazing!!

... And I keep thinking the picture is gonna move for some reason...

  • Thanks for the upload! Glad I'm not the only one in thus country who's interested in vocal talents! And I don't mean IDOL, I mean real talents

    Mats from Norway

  • I am reminded of the British bass - quite a decent singer - who toured Russia. He was successful in his concerts until he decided to compliment his hosts by singing a Russian folk song with some low notes. He came off stage utterly shattered, for he realised that the audience knew the song well and were singing with him. Only they were singing it the octave down.

  • I realy want to know more about Vladimir Pasjuikov.

How old is he? ca. 38-43?

Is he also able to sing in an opera or is he just specializet in church songs/"(carols)"?

  • @Elsynore It's really hard to find any information about him, I would also like to know more. I believe he is retired though; at least he no longer performs with the Male Choir of St. Petersburg, so he's probably considerably older than 43 years old. I would guess maybe around 55-60.

  • @gudpeder NO: Takk for svaret.

UK: Thank jou for your answer. In my opinion he looks alike very young for a grandfather, with a grandchild from 1988, but young grandfathers exsists too. Maybe you've right.

  • @Gudpeder,

UK: It's a pitty when he'll performances any more. I hope he didn't perfomanced just that latest time.

Maybe he has just it too busy with other things that evening?

  • @gudpeder He was 77 when he died

  • @fuitbag Who? Pasyukov? He was about to celebrate his 67th. birthday (he was born on July, 29th, 1944), not his 77th.

  • @1donpizarro when did he die this year? or is that just the wrong date, sorry my maths is really shit

  • @1donpizarro Is Vladimir miller dead?

  • @fuitbag No, he's still alive. And I feel happy he is, because the death of Vladimir Pasyukov was a cruel blow.

  • Ahhh...The powerfull voice of Pasyukov. His voice is indeed very deep! His low range seems infinite as he goes down, crushing every low note with great power but still with delicate musicality! He is retired, but with the legendary sound of his voice, he left a legacy as one of the finest basso profondo in history.

  • Who composed this song?

  • only 1 person doesnt like this song....must be the village idiot

  • What a great singer! Probably they who not like this great voices and aaalways comment on wrong places, would take a shit some other place. Not here. Please. Why are they watching this link anyway? If possible, - erase the green comment in start. Give a damn about people who maybe ALWAYS must comment shit about everything. Thank you, - for the tune.

  • Fantastic! What a voice:)) -As always, some nobody must destroy a nice link as this with a bad comment. Why are these peoples inside her anyway? -Please find some other place to do a shit, wherever you like. But, not here. - Again - nice video.

  • 2:30 omg *---*

  • My God that's beautiful. I can't imagine what that's like with a full chorus in a church.

  • It's just like dang guys, how about instead of constantly comparing yourselves to this man (you don't compare btw), just sit back and admire what he has to offer you! He has a gift, and he's sharing it with you. Stop comparing presents, DANG.

  • What an amazing voice! And excellent technique as well, hard to find deep bases that don't "wobble"

  • @verriegelungenmann yes someone is messing with the sound. so disappointing. I heard it a while back too and it was louder and really filled up my room. Now its so soft I can't actually enjoy it.

  • The human voice is the most expressive and powerful instrument there is and pasjukov brings it to a whole new level of emotional depth. he has one of the clearest tones of any basso i've heard.

  • otshen priatnyj barkhatnyj golos! la voix est bien posée et sans effort visible !

    superbe !

  • I know that, when I have a cold I go from my natutral baritone to natural bass. What happens to a basso profundo when he has a cold? ! That must be unbelievable!

  • @ccdg1066

Most of them live in Russia, and there is cold all the year, maybe this is why they have this voices, haha

  • @Loiginer Haha, indeed. I live in Canada. Plenty of cold to go around :)

But what I was referring to in my previous comment was, what happens when a basso-profundo has "une malade", an illness of the "common cold" variety; I was wondering just how much lower his bass

    would become. Foundation-shaking I suppose!!

  • @ccdg1066

Hate to ruin the idea, but you actually lose notes off of the bottom of your range as a bass. You also can't get the warm resonant tone a bass is supposed to have... if anything you sound like a tuba filled with glue.

  • @ccdg1066 Same thing happens to me,only i am a bass so i think i would just go to a lower bass.

  • Love how, even on the lowest notes, his sound is very smooth.

  • Absolute amazed !!

I can not sleep thinking in that voice. Transports me to an imaginary world.

    No joke !!

  • Bog blagoslovit!

  • Fuck, this is low

  • Chuck Norris is squealing in terror. His high notes like at 3:40 are really good too. His technique must be amazing. I have a vibratto like his. It's very rapid, but I'm a baritone/tenor, so it doesn't sound as good. This guys balls are probably the size of baseballs.

  • @CelestialStateOfMind i discredit that....im willing to bet theyre more like bowling balls haha.

but my greatest respect goes to Vladimir. his prowess is unbeatable

  • @spncrbutters damn straight.

  • @spncrbutters damn straight. Wrecking balls maybe? lol jk.

  • @CelestialStateOfMind if not wrecking balls, theyd have to be planets with such gravity that pulls women in like crazy lmao

  • i struggle for the talent that Pasjukov possesses. i only need to be able to project my low notes better then maybe i could come close to matching his greatness

  • The best basso profondo of all time. The darkest voice imaginable. Somber tone. Just a beast.

  • I absolutely love this music by the way. I have it on my bookmarks and am truly inspired. They make me feel feminine ;D

(don't worry I'm working on reaching high notes currently!)

  • I'm glad he sings an octave or two below me :D

Mind you I guess I'd sing like him if I was a guy :P

From the girl that sings the Volga Boatman's song :D

  • i love some of the comments a little further back about people saying they can "hit"certian notes, but the fact is, this so called hitting is probably a feeble grunt, as though they have to go outside in the rain. to anyone claiming they can rival this singer in power or depth, you cant otherwise you would be the ones who are famous

  • very much like Paul Robeson actually. Find him right here on youtube

  • I love at 1:55 it goes all barbershop! :) I joke truly brilliant music!

  • I keep searching in vain for something like Pasyukov...going to give up right now!

  • you're not russian? Sorry. I want to say that the previous version -- Pasyukov -- was correct due to transliteration regulations.

  • @taviskaron15 I'm Norwegian, hehe. I know, but I actually didn't notice the misspelling before Zatamon made me aware of it.

  • moving, touching....just fantastic,

  • The name is misspelled; it is Vladimir Pavlovich Pasjukov (in original: Владимир Павлович Пасюков).

His tone is the most ancient among the excellent Russian basso profondos. Fits to such spiritual chants.

  • @Zatamon It will be corrected.

  • @Zatamon

Разве "ю" правильно транслитерировать не как "yu"?

  • @taviskaron15 Уже хороший, gudpeder исправлял это.

  • @Zatamon Could you elaborate on his tone? What makes it the most "ancient"?

  • @Jextxadore It has not exact measure. From his voice I associate to a medieval church with some low clanging echo.

  • As the Basso Profundo ages, I have noticed that there is a lack of air or ability to sustain notes. The lower part of the range is denser in sound. The voice does lower with age but the strength suffers.

  • que talento me da miedo jejeje

  • I would sell my soul for the voice of a basso profondo.

  • @MrMaxwelldl Careful what you wish for. =D

  • Im a Baritone, 13 years old. This guy makes me feel like a soprano

  • @lordianed If you're a Baritone at 13, that's very impressive. You could make yourself a Basso Profondo yet!

  • Splendid video, thanks. I can hear it perfectly well, I think there is NOTHING wrong with the sound. Why do some people like thundering speakers? This is not rock.

  • @verriegelungenmann I have not done anything to the original, so there must be a problem with YouTube... Sorry. If the audio problem of this video continues, I will upload a new video of the song.

  • Impressive depth, gorgeous high range, all very dark and full. Makes the stones weep.

  • cs57.vkontakte. ru/u1847160/10199460/x_5fe8ea3f.jpg

    it's Pasiukov photo

  • @taviskaron15 Where, how did you find this? Many of us have been scouring the internet only to find..nothing!

  • @Shalott99 This photo has been posted personally by Vladimir Miller on our Russian social network website vkontakte ru. There is a gallery of oktavists created by him as well.

    vkontakte ru/id1847160 - Miller's page

vkontakte ru/club344023 - the 'group' about oktavists

    registration is required :)

  • @Shalott99 I agree... a lot, many hours spent... nothing found... cry, Sniff! jaja

  • Simply beautiful!

  • well.......I'm a 72 year old man and can still hit the High C or even High F and can sing Lakmé, Lucia, Olympia and the Queen of the Night

    (ah! )

  • Comment removed

  • hm, then I have wonder why it says on your profile that you are 77? Seriously if you in fact are 72 or 77 and can back up your statement above I will gladly eat my own keyboard but if you are just sitting there lying you can just fuck off.

  • @BoundByBodom -why so rude & rough ?

it was just a humourous comment, you didn't catch it........smile, smile, life is a banquet dude

  • I am 15 and a half and I can hit a double-low C,but I can't project it loud..YET!

  • Post video or stop bragging. Just hit the "ordinary" Low C, project it , hell, project the D above it.

I'm pretty sure you can't. All the props to you if you can, post a video and prove me wrong.

  • nice, i'm 15 and I can hit the E, do you practice?

  • well,I am in a choir...I guess I do :)

  • Comment removed

  • @taviskaron15 have a video of it? I'm doing a reseach about the low voices for a my music class. Iy would be nice to see a young low voice man!

  • Is there a CD or DVD from this choir? Especially with this song?

  • I believe I have this exact version. PM'd.

  • omg this is so beautiful im a bass in highschool and a freshman but i can only go down to like an E below low C right now i hope to b able to go that low one day

  • It`s not so special tho hit this notes, but to project it loud and powerful like pasuikov does.

Haha, imagine him in a singstars battle...always one or two octaves lower than the original song (=

  • @DonSchanteloni

    That would be awsome jaja.

I agree with you, it's about projecting the sound as powerful and loud... I can´t do that YET... Sniff!

  • @RAAMerisima thanks, i looked it up, and yes i use vocal fry, but after using it for 5-6 years, i've become quite adept with it, and i get a very full sound from it, i'd say about 90% full tone

  • @sporkman52

No need to thank me, but, you're welcome. I actually can't use the vocal fry to my advantage... If I use it, then I can't project any note... I'm only able to use it to scare little kids... ;P

  • @DonSchanteloni

    I'd like to correct you.

It IS special to hit these notes.

It is SUPER special to hit these notes while creating a real full-bass tone, instead of rattling (distortion) without much tone.

  • Comment removed

  • @RAAMerisima wat? not that difficult? and if u sing and u say u can reach those notes why aren´t u kind of known?, stop saying crap, cause maybe u say u sing, but u sing popular easy crap, be in a choir is diferent we create harmony by making each note of a chord between all the voices and then creates the harmony, so don´t say crap please! or maybe u can show me ur hability with one of ur videos please (:

  • I do not intend to ofend you mate, I CAN reach those notes, I'm telling you I do not have the experience to be famous, I sing in a choir, Kantorei Cedros-UP... The youtube videos are quite crappy (sniff!) I'm not awsome. I'm not saying I'm famous... I just reach his notes

  • @RAAMerisima well then, i feel like rubish, cause i can´t reach those notes, maybe all the world can but not i, im sorry, i can maybe do those notes but not that perfectly tuned and powerfull, can u?

  • No jajaja... I only reach them, is what I've been saying the whole time, I can't projrct them the way he does... I mean he's awsome, I want to be able to sing like him... And don't feel like rubish... I can't reach a note higher than the central RE

  • @RAAMerisima you seem like you might actually know what you're talking about. I also sing bass in a men's group. My speaking voice is not terribly low, but since i was about 18 i've been able to hit notes far lower than i feel i should be able to, although they aren't 100% clean, is that the vocal fry you talked about in a previous comment?

  • @sporkman52

Vocal fry... how to explain it... Remember the movie Grudge?... The ghost always makes a noise with vocal fry

  • @RAAMerisima IMO, Russian basso profundos don't even need to know what vocal fry is.

  • @1donpizarro I agree jajaja

  • Comment removed

  • G4? Bullshit!

  • In this piece, the highest note he sings is C4 (1:54). Maybe he is able to go even higher. Perhaps he is like a normal bass, but with an extension at the bottom end of his range.

I mean look at Ivan Rebroff, he has an extreme range both in the low and the high end.

    watch?v=3x0aB9m32mQ

  • @gudpeder He's actually not singing @ 1:54, the rest of the choir including counter tenors are hitting those notes. The highest note in the solo is at 3:41 (sorry, don't know how to link that up). I don't know what that is, but it's still quite low and sounds like it's at the upper end of his range...

  • @Shalott99 Yes, and it's a Bflat 3. But, in his recording of "Twelve brigands" (on youtube), I heard him sing a D flat (above the stave, in F clef), and that sounded uttermost impressive by its power. I had not realized (or I had forgotte,n) that, as a basso profondo, he could reach such notes.

  • @1donpizarro Thanks for replying to me - because I haven't been here in a while and hadn't heard the sad news. And it is sad, so many of us just learned he existed in the last few years, thanks to Youtube, and never got the chance to hear him live. I wonder if he knew he had a little unofficial fan club here? Not to mention 66/67 is too young to be passing on...

  • They should transpose this down a step... lol it would be even MORE epic.

  • Fantastica capacidade....!!!!!!

    show..

  • So if I can sing this now, and I'm 18, does that mean I'll be able to sing even lower continuing till my 30's? If what williebeaty is saying is true that is.

  • It's very possible, I could sing higher in my teens than I can now in my 30's. I'm a mezzo but in choirs went from soprano to Alto 2! The voice also becomes fuller and darker with age, I also think experience has something to do with it.

  • noone can sing like this in his teens. I thought I could, but than I realised that I wasn't really... he's even lower.

  • point is, no matter how low you think you are, this guy is ten times lower... *giggles*

  • Seeing as you don't know my voice, you cannot say that. Yes, I believe his voice is lower then mine, but the fact that he is much older then me and that my voice is going to continue to deepen gives me the logical thought that I will be able to sing this.

  • tiby2403.... no offense, I can sing as low as this guy, and it´s comfortable for me.

  • make a vid and post it. i like watching people perform live rather than just a recording

  • I don´t know how to post jajaja, besides I don´t have a camera, but I swear I'll try to post one soon, then I´ll give you the link

  • but does it sound as good as him

  • @MrHolden67 I can't project the sound as he does, I mean I love how he sings, I don't say I can sing like him, I just reach his notes, and by the way tiby... I agree, I've been singing since I'm 4 years old and I never thought someone MY age could reach these notes, but... I trained, a lot, I mean a LOT jajajajajaja.

  • exactly, if your just groaning down in your shoes it's not the same. This guy has the projection and a really rich resonance in his voice

  • váo

  • i can listen to this music all day

  • Is there any video that can present pasuikov in bone&flesh?because I can't imagine a man with that outstonishing voice!

  • In the video "The Male Choir of St. Petersburg (Russia)" you can see him at 3:26. I think he appears in some other videos as well, but I don't remeber which.

  • The user is called EricAmada. Pasuikov also appears in "Male Choir of St. Petersburg (Russia)" (not the same as the previous video I spoke of) posted by the user "BariTenoreDram".

  • And the St Petersburg Chamber Choir "We Praise Thee."

  • That's a great example, too, as you get to see him hit an A below the C2!

    Astonishing voice!

  • @gudpeder I love that video, the upload only plays on the left channel now though :( not quite as awesome losing the stereo dynamic

  • @bloodsling I still hear it in stereo, and I've testet it on two computers with different YouTube usernames. I think there must have been something wrong with your speakers, or maybe a temporary error in the YouTube system...

  • This voice can graw only in the church.

He has big soul, for some of you its difickl to understend ...

  • What a majestic voice !!!

Resonant and dark...even his highest notes sound massive...and his weird vibrato...

    I love it !!!

  • Odd- he drifts a tone flat over the course of the recording, and drags the whole choir with him! You would think the conductor would have noticed something was slightly odd.

  • I know! It is very strange... But you don't notice if you don't listen carefully. Maybe it was intentional, maybe he wanted to go even lower so the song seemed even sader.
