  • amazing for me...never saw this before...great vid... ty

  • great landing! thank you for sharing this video

  • just awesome !

  • A M A Z I N G !! please, post some more videos of this fine fine roller of the sky

  • To the other poster: minimal X-wind. The wind was less than 5deg. Right of RCL. One thing I didnt know prior, is that it looked from the film that the nosewheel is controlled by yoke input? Am I correct in that assumption? Thanks.

  • @geeayevette No input to nose wheel from yoke I don't think. Notice turn onto taxi way at the end of the roll out. Turn done with toe brakes.

  • @kg5ie I think the nose wheel once they get moving on T/O is locked straight ahead, and then released before landing so it will swivel freely and not mess up the touch down and roll out. You're right, of course, about turns with the brakes on each main wheel at low speeds. I had a friend, Fain Pool, who flew B-29s (plus B-17s, C-54s, etc) but he left on his final flight.

  • @kg5ie there's a B-29 training video /CsvLi8QyVwU where the pilot is told not to use brakes due to wear and overheating and to use engines for turning.

  • see B-29 Flight Procedure And Combat Crew Functioning (1944) on YT.
