The irony is that despite his fame, Elvis hardly wrote any lyrics at all. His strenght was more the performing and the interpreting of the songs. He had a gift for bringing the music a different feel that their authors never could. Makes me think of Ricky Martin, who also wrote almost no lyrics to his music, he had others do that for him.
