  • badass

  • this would be A, for antenna =)

  • That's one of the dumbest fucking things I've ever seen in my life.

The wind turbines I mean, not the basejumping.

  • What's the song?

  • You don't really see how huge they're until you're right near them.

  • how the hell did you get up THERE?

  • climbed or took the elevator

  • Go Obama! I want more wind turbines!!

  • if U fall there helmet would not help! U wil brake your neck

  • But it will help if they hit a turbine blade or tower after their chute is deployed.

  • how did vestas let you jump without helmet ? :P or was it training at emergency situtation :? :S

  • Why you dont thanks for Vestas??

  • I didn't realise the things got that big. Although really I should have...

  • wow i knew they were big. but that puts them in perspective.

  • Respect!

  • is that legal

  • no :D

  • Crazy guys!!! Hope they don´t jump from a running turbine...

  • mh maybe they can jump from some of enercon´s E126. i think my uncle could make some ways up to there ;). hes a project leader

  • wahtch out for ufo's ;)

  • I love base jumping is sou cool sport and most extreme men base jump lover

  • lagwagon-run in to the family

  • lol GE turbines suck lol i worked on them and they are horrible machines and yeah those vestas turbines aren't 200 meters tall, i work for vestas and we don't have 200m towers sooo probly 100 meter V90 or V80. oh yeah and one last thing GE turbines suck ass :)

  • Pls what is song NAME ??? plss

  • How did he get up there...

  • lol, i wouldent recommend this, those arent that high and it isnt quite safe when ur that low.

  • think that the jump look's better from a GE turbine :-)

  • LOL?

U dont see?? what is writing in wind turbine??

  • Who work in Vestas??!!

  • ppl forget how big those things are

  • 200m.

  • ...they looked like they were jumping from a lot lower than 200m

  • not 200M. def not

  • you have to have huge bollocks of steel to do this. lunies livin life to the full. stay safe!

  • Mais comment ils font pour grimper là haut? x)

    Sinon ça a l'air génial =D

  • I hole, if you die, your family won't sue the turbine owner.

  • besides that looks way easier than climbing down the freakin ladder

  • Comment removed

  • count the cost of the manufacture the shipping and they are more dirty than oil these are not efficent research toyota prius cars on the outside they look green but dealve deepand remember green is the new communism

  • you are fucking crazy dewdlehead

  • i don't get why people have to act like they know everything about these turbines. have you ever worked on them? do you know what a nacelle is? do you know what yaw means? how many volts does a plc run off of? what is a MW? what is the environmental impact? how much do they cost? how long can they run before they must be decomissioned? how much do they weigh? HOW MUCH MONEY DO THEY BRING TO YOUR COMMUNITY? enough of the damn arguing and just be happy we have them!they are a blessing to all of us

  • @rohde42 I actually know quite a bit about them. The "money" they bring are tax subsidies and rate payer dollars from others. Most work at 20% of capacity(a 1 megawatt turbine really is a 200 kilowatt turbine...marketing you know)...you need to have a complete back system. They destroy thousands of acres. They are removing hundreds of them from Altamont because they kill thousands of raptors. The more they build the more bats and raptors killed. And they don't reduce co2 or oil usage.

  • @venturen one, they may not reduce CO2 but they dont make it, and secondly, people say they kill lots of birds and bats, but thats a very small percentage of bird and bat deaths compared to air planes and other large structures like skyscrapers with their glass windows, that kill more birds and bats than wind turbines. all im saying is do more research. cause alot of that is hype from the permanent energy subsidies (oil, Natural gas, coal) to keep green energy down, they want your money!

  • lol these guys are nuts

  • how in the hell did they get up there!?

  • Somehow they got the key, (maby from the owner) took the lift up, climbed the last 10 meters up in the nacelle. Opened the top window and climbed up on top af the nacelle..

  • Awesom... Absolutely awesome :)

  • great idea...awesome

  • except if you get bag lock and then your ass becomes vulture and coyote dinner!

  • base containers don't have d-bags to lock up. and if your container's locking up on you then you got some f'd gear to begin with.

  • awesome :D

  • insane-vid.

  • Oh yeah, and there aren't any laws, at least in Cali and Texas, about running turbines in high winds. They actually shut themselves off in high winds to save wear and tear.

  • The turbines take a small amount of power to yaw into the wind. When the wind picks up, the blades pitch, the turbines start running up, and when they come on-line, they stop consuming power and start making power.

The average size of the modern WTG is 1.5 MW. In a rated wind (25 MPH) a 1.5 MW WTG will make about $300/hour here in California, so to the retards saying "they really don't make money", well don't listen to them because they have no clue.

  • oh, and something ABOUT THE VIDEO: men, hand deploy base, and from one of those electric windmill shits, YEAHHH

  • hey psico boys, go do politics someplace else, this is a video sharing comunnity

  • prze huje

  • whats the name of this song????

  • they do generate alot of power, one can produce enough energy to support a small village, give it one week

  • That's about all these wind turbines are any use for. They sure don't generate much power. If they are so necessary, why aren't they all switched on? 'Cause it takes the USE of too much power to keep them all turning is why. That's what the firms that shove these things up don't let on about. Just money making for the shareholders, who don't give a shit about uglying up natural scenery.

  • actually they aren't all turning because the wind isn't blowing...they don't need an outside source of energy, smart one...otherwise they wouldn't use them.

  • I see some of them turning.. Don't you?

Go find out how they start them turning, before the wind does it alone. They'll be neglected and covered in crap in fifty years; unless they take them down first! They make money. For the companies who build them. Their directors drive round in luxury gas guzzlers. I hate the things, but I know a good investmnent when I see it. So I make money from you dipshits who keep yelling for more of them. Thanks.

  • So if the wind isn't blowing, blowhard, how are the ones that are turning, actually turning, smartarse? By virtue of The wind that "isn't blowing" I guess. Christ how the various Governments have pulled the wool over your shades... You deserve to get ripped off. trouble is I get ripped off as well in taxes for this shit.

  • wind doesn't blow evenly across the earth, if you know anything about science...and you are a person driven by conspiracy...someone that thinks everything in this world is a trick...and someone that complains wayy too much

  • Are you really this stupid or are you just being cute?

  • You must be one hell of a stupid person. wind turbines don't use any electricity whatsoever. And you smartass, if there is no wind, there is nothing to turn those turbines.

Wind turbines are yet most efficient ecological energy prowiders. They are clean energy you deepshit. Because of people like you this planet is diying.

  • dude are you stupit?? they dont get powerd they turn by the winf to make power ur a fucking looser!!!

  • You clearly have a limited vocabulary. You rsesort to obscenities, because you don't know any better . I feel sorry for you. I'm not a loser nor stupid. I know how these machines work. I worked on them and and I know the con that the companies are pulling to make money from dimwits who believe all they are told and all they read; those who can read that is.

  • they do use power, not much, but they do. they use a motor to start the blades turning, then the wind takes over. also, if the wind is too high or too low, they will stop.

  • what a load of crap they dont use a motor to start also they dont stop in low wind they idle around until the wind speed picks up and to respond to your last comment turbines are not allowed by law to run in high wind

  • Really expensive huh? I work on wind turbines and I can tell you a couple of things. They use a small amount of power off the grid to run their controler. But at full production a 3-5 million dollar (installed) can make four thousand dollars an hour. I worked on a site that is not the largest and could make three hundred fifty thousand dollars an hour. So you see that you are missinformed.

  • I work for vestas the ones they are jumping from, Snyder tx they are 105 meters tall

  • it wuld be funny if there was a sudden change of wind

  • you're DINGO but great fun

  • very nice

  • Men u're fucking nuts! thanx, I love it, great vid

  • Those things are very fucking tall....

  • Where are they? thanks in advanced.

  • My guess is North western Germany or Holland - I used to live there and it looks much like this - or at least has these kinds of wind mills scattered everywhere.

  • wowo holy shit 1;44 wow

  • wdf how they get up dere

  • Damn, I wanna do a BASE jump so bad. XD They rule...

  • what is that sound??????(music) anyone knows???

  • heards hike Lag Wagon

  • good stuff lads, but how are you's getting up there, haven't seen any ladders on them round my way.

  • Those wind turbines are HUGE!

They usualy have a door on the side and steps or ladder on the inside.

  • Hand deployed *canopy*? WOW

  • Great video, gay (yes I say gay) music.

  • Awsome:D Never tryied it from an wind turbine.... Have to do that....

  • Very Kewl

  • this is a true 'green' sport

love the part from 1:20 till the end very, very mucho.

  • Hello Iam ftom Germany and I work every day on the Windturbine thats very crazy to jump from the Turbine I will this lol

    Have a nice Christmas

    Andree

  • there is a staircase in the middle going up

  • haha staircase? I wish!! I work on them and it a ladder straight up!! One helluva climb!

  • Some being built in our area have an elevator in them

  • Insane but very cool.

  • how do they get up those turbines?

  • who play the music??

  • the music is cool^^

  • AWESOME, love wind turbines and seeing them in the background gives me the chills. 5 STARS

  • Jeebus - that's just nuts - I like it though..I'd never have the balls to do that..never.. I have a couple of friends that work for Vestas & I think it's fair to say that those wings weren't made to be stood on.. I mean - you can (well duh - you did!) - but it's not like it's safe - even if you do wear a helmet and a parachutey type thing.

I'd be happier jumping from something taller - more time to deploy.. I think..

  • the smaller the better.

  • owkay i get it you use the ladder to get up. but then you just walk over the wing of the turbine? thats insane!

  • Whats the worst thing that could happen walking out there? You fall? Aren't they about to jump anyway =)

  • You can't deploy the chute at just any body orientation. The risk is that you fall off and can't get oriented in time to deploy. Or you deploy anyway and get your lines tangled in your arms/legs. Dead is dead.

  • Oh my, I am slipping! Lean forward and open the chute... what is so hard about that? I am pretty sure the guys doing this aren't that big of sissys to worry about it.

  • That's the spirit! Your Darwin Award awaits!

  • Thanks man I always wanted an award. Your couch potato award is awaiting you... along with a free subscription of ESPN and Speed. So you can sit and wish you had the balls to do the things other people are actually doing. After all I am guessing you are all in support of live a long and boring life? So when you hit 70 you can say WOW I never did anything with my life... cool!

  • You can have all the balls in the world, but paying attention to the little details may well be the difference between walking off the landing site and being carried off.

And waiting until you're seventy and THEN stupidly jumping off a wind turbine has a lot more to recommend it than when you're twenty.

  • I did not say forget the details... If you want to be a safe sider that is fine. Just do not complain when life passes you by.

  • BASEjumpin is a sport for perfectionists, there is no room for errors, and only one chute

sissies like you should only do skydivin.

and i see you're in the military, that explains why you don't think for yourself. When you're 70, you'll only think about the people you needlessly killed and go to church to ask forgiveness for your sins, but the only one responsible for your actions is you, and murder won't ever be forgiven.

  • What the hell are you talking about? What does your comment even have to do with this video? Haha... ignorance oozes from your post.

  • I agree

  • Who believes in God? Who needs to have that crutch to prop 'em up? Hypocrites who 'SIN' all week, and then go to church on (SIN)day. You wish to waste your time grovellinmg on your knees to something you don't even know exists, that's your affair, but don't tell me I have to do it.

  • But YOU stand less chance of Hitting 70... And all the Balls I need have been put to better use than doing something stupid. like base jumping. That's the point! Well said senojelyk!

    Lol!

  • well.... you guys top all of my crazy basejumps like the eiffel tower the former WTC, the space needle, and the Palace Hotel, but wind turbines and you even hold you chute. you guys aer crazy

  • how the fuck did you get up there?... a ladder

  • its a wind turbine. they have ladders.

must be a fairly tall turbine though.

    looks like its a v90 :o

sure its a vestas turbine either way

  • Its a v80, 39 meter blades.

    The v90 got another tipshape.

  • thats sweet! I just got hired with vestas (the wind turbines company).. What wind farm location was this?

  • omg i would loooooooooooove to try that man

  • liar lol

  • Holy F!! Awesome, I'm next! So...does that count as an antenna jump? And seriously, how do you get up there? I've been googling turbines and I cant find an access point or ladder.

  • Sort of sounds like you want to have a crack at doing it :)

They have internal ladders in them... their is a door at the base of the towers.

  • how u get up dere

  • how tall are those turbines (from exit point)?

  • Those wind turbines make very little contribution to the environment however they are far better for BASE 10/10 great video!

  • you sir, are an idiot

  • jungs wenn ihr aus schleswig hostein kommt büdde ma anschreiben!! komme aus HH und suche noch leutz :))

  • Wow. I think you have the only video of jumping off of this kind of object!

  • i want to know the same people! turbine tech, EMS.

  • Again: Thanks. The song is "Runs in the family" by Lagwagon

  • How did you get into base, skydiving. I want to do it, ive been told skydiving is the way to start.

  • what song is that

  • "Runs in the family" by Lagwagon

i just looked at the page with the olderst comments, you could do that, too :P

  • Awesome Video !!

  • Woa...u guys rule, i would never try that and im crazy you guys got some connections, skill, and crazy gut.

  • lets say: we know some people

  • what company you guys work for, i go to school for wind energy and turbine technology, worked for Vestas in Northern Cali this summer, i would love to try this..
