I saw this lesson months ago maybe a year ago and I came back to review it because I just forgot everything I learned in this lesson, not Justin fault it's my fault. xD
hey i have a question, anyone can answer please :) many metronomes have a beat acccentuate, that beat is the 1 or the 4 beat? wich one is accentuate and i have another one.. can you play 6 or 9 or 12 notes per beat? or this 4-8-16 is rule? please anyone who know this things help me !!
Hey dude this is a cool lesson. I thought you might like to check out a new guitar website that really helps beginner guitarists. >> RexPearson. com << Would love for you to give some feedback and maybe even do a guest lesson for it?
somebody help me! i find it hard to follow a metronome on time but with a drummer i have no problem. is it better to follow a drummer or to play with a metronome?
@Ashitaka255 im with you man. im having trouble staying on beat for more than a minute or so. but everyone says practice makes perfect. i have yet to see it.
you just fixed your metronome in the middle of the lesson !!!
Thanks a lot for the lessons... i've been playing the guitar for almost 9 years now... but you've earned my trust that much that i've started to watch all you videos for extra details that i've left out ... so thanks again ... keep up the good work !
K dude I have a question, I just bought a Korg metronome, im drummer, so my instrument is very loud, and when I plug in my earphones, only one ear works, is it suppose to be like that?
Fantastic lessons!!! I can't wait to get a song or two under my belt along with just coming up with cool riffs on my own. A great alternative to the metronome is downloading a metronome program for your cell phone! g/l to you and me on our mad growing guitar skillz!
Justin you do give good lessons and try your best and I personally appreciate it.. all I ever get is guitar teachers screwing me over so your one of the best resources I have access to from shitty adelaide!
@concurssi - By that I meant that people will think they do it naturally and wouldn't need to be taught it, not that "I'm so good". But I do think I give pretty good lessons, at least I really try my best to give you guys every tip I can think of!
Thanks so much for the help man this vid is probs one of the best vids about how to use metronomes, I'm learning to sweep pick atm and wanna build speed up and thanks to you I now know how to use these things properly! great lesson mate :)
I've a drum thing on my keyboard, pretty good but it doesn't have only "a beat", it's adding like a real drummer - and you can change style; pop, rock, blues, dance, and so on... Over 170 styles. But it doesn't have "dut dut dut dut" only. So I wonder if it does matter? Can i use it anyway? :P
Yeah, but a dut dut dut dut sound can really tell.. Because of the drum machine I don't know if I start on the 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 as 1? If you understand?
Yeah but there's suppose to be a snare hit on every "1" but i still would prefer buyin a metronome than a drum machine because it's cheaper but if I had the money a would buy a drum machine BTW your covers are nice
I have this exact metronome, but when I am practicing fast runs in say 3's or 4's I always set it to 1 beat. Because if I set it to 3 beats and I am playing in triplets I am not sure if that means I play one note every click or not, it gets very confusing.
I need to put this on the to get list. Keeping time is a problem for me right now. I used to play the drums in school and yet I still have problems keeping time on guitar.
True. But this MA30 is available for only 18€ at thomann, I would definitely recommend to buy such a dedicated metronome, I think it's much more flexible and handy than a program on a computer.

You can also find metronome applications for your mobile/cellphone - Worth a try if you can't afford a real one.
