Do you know where i can find rules and regulations regarding bows? I want to make my own but i can't find much on the subject. I also need to know how to find the the strength of a bow to make sure it's in the 25-29 lb. mark.

@TheBryan434 No rules... but type in How to make a bow Ray mears you can make your bow (a real one)... The key is the string (the length and tightness of the string gives you the power. Use a fishermans scale to get the poundage, string your bow and twist the string untill you get the right poundage...

@TheBryan434 Neither will be any good, if your buying materials it would be easier just to buy a childs training bow... They are already set at 30lbs... And should last for 10,000 pulls!

Just wondering but in the middle of a battle how do you go and find your arrows and recollect them or do you have to make new ones :D? just wondering hehe :D

@HelghanEmperor people do pick them up and put them to one side and you do end up picking up other peoples which you can use. After a fight the old arrow swap is very common...

@njsmama1 Sadly US LARPs are faling behind when it comes to LARPs in general. A lot of it had to do with safety and fear of being sued.

There are a few LARPs that come close to those across the pond. Amtgard, Dagorhir are not ones to look into. NERO and Allience do come close, but again they are slow to change due to the safety issues.

Which LARP do you play in? I've been to Conquest (Germany) once. Planning on visiting the UK to find more.

@ogunshi When it comes to Larp we are very good at policing ourselves. Yes accidents happen, you get the odd idiot, but generaly its all good. Even small events are being hit by the state. We used to have loads of events to go to, then there was small pointless change in the law and we lost access to half our sites, and those sites lost half thier income. Who bennifits, no one!!! Hit a sore pint sorry!

He had H&S inspecter turn up to an event a couple of years ago, with his clip board who tried to tell players how we couldn't have flames inside any tent... Even those with set cooking areas! we said " What a individual decides to do in his/her own tent with thier own equipment was none of his business.... Where did it come from - blooming festival numpties lighting candles at music event!!!

@Gothtecdotcom That's a good irony , but you must compare the two article , that nerf sword is maybe foam , but cheap plastic at the grip , also such products hold no quality.

A larp weapon , when bought at the right place of course , are quality ensured , and are secure.

You ever get people trying to use 31+ bows? Do they get kicked out, or just get a warning?

@HawkinsTB All bows are tested on entry, if it over the poundage then it is stored untill rectified... If you fail to get a weapon tested you will have serious words with whoever catches you... usualy because someone has complained about the weapon being unsafe... I've held a couple of bows that have been (not mine) and then taken them to refs to be retested... One was an event bought bow and the purchaser had been told iit had been tested when it hadn't!!!

i love these, but i dont want to spray silicone on it becuse it would get very tedious tbh. would it still last about a year if i didnt use silicone?

@DrawingForFunTV The spray has two uses to protect the isoflex/latex and the make it easier to draw (always an issue in an attack). Talc is also usefull... Whatt you want is something that can stay 'SAFE' for as long as possible!!
