soundtracks from: - on the waterfront - the bridge on the river kwai - ben-hur -my fair lady -the godfather -kramer vs. kramer -amadeus -rain man -forrest gump -american beauty -gladiator -there will be blood
its a shame not to see O'Toole up there. every year he had something going against him. First, a character from a pulitzer prize winning novel, then a charac. from a tony winning play, then a retard, then John Wayne(biggest movie star), then Brando, then De Niro, then revered, important historical figure Gandhi and finally larger than life, unsavory, famous African Leader. For the most part it was for the characters the awards were given, not the performances per se
The absolute best: Marlon Brando for On the Waterfront and Daniel Day Lewis for There Will Be Blood. The overrated: Tom Hanks, Jeff Bridges and Jack Nicholson. The undeserving: Michael Douglas and Nicholas Cage. Scandalously robbed: Richard Burton for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and Brando for Streetcar and Zapata.
Brits had a golden age but looks like they have had their day.

I wonder who will take 2010? Either Jesse Eisenberg or Colin Firth. Those are 2 nominees that I'm predicting.
