Manic Panic works best if you heat it with a hairdryer once you've applied it. It's a vegetable based dye so it doesn't have all the hardcore chemicals in it that normal hair colours do.
Red is also a bit of a notorious colour to keep in your hair anyway because red hair colour particles are smaller than other hair colour particles so they wash out easier.
does the removal have an irritant symbol on the bottle? if not check the ingredients and check if there are any hydroxides or nitrates, even formaldehyde in it, if it does i wouldn't recommend using it as it will be absorbed by the skin and could cause serious health problems...
I use Manic Panic Pillarbox Red and it hold in my hair REALLY well BUT, I wash my hair every other day and I was it in luke warm-cool water. I touch it up every 3 weeks or so =)
Its not ManicPanic, its Hot topic, hot topic doesnt use the real thing, i went to their store and they even re-named some of the manic panic colors. and Hot topic dyes arent that great :/

I used manic panic in rock n' roll red. It does suck, and turned orange the next day. I've used A LOT of splat colors, and the red was the best. N' Rage is a really good brand too.
do you wash your hair in cold water? it helps retain colour sooooo much better! i haven't used manic panic myself but i use splat for my bright red hair
@darknessfalls26 Yeah I used MP in UltraViolet and in the Atomic Turq. The Turq would last about two shampooings, the Ultraviolet lasted one. It was WAY too much upkeep!

Manic panic you have to heat with a blow dryer :) That's what I do to get the bright colors.

Use Loreal Hilights for dark hair! The red is so bright and you dont have to bleach it! Mix it with a 30 vol. developer and you are good to go! :)

I've heard of people putting MP into their conditioner to help the color maintain. Dunno if it works!
