I only know his great great contribution to Bowie's music! Without Mike Garson's more than excellent and original piano playing there would have been a lot missing! It is so gorgeous! Need to check out more of his music.

To be sure, he is one of the coolest nicest people you will know...I knew him well back in the Army Days when we served in the 1st !Army New York Band...He always kept us laughing with that engaging personality of his...To think I got to play trumpet in his trio..He used to hire me to play with him! It was an awesome experience hearing these kinds of chords he used. Believe me, he has always been a magnificent player along with being a most kind and unforgettable individual. .

We called him "Hey Mickey": What's happening? ..US.Army days in the First Army New York Band on Staten Island, NYC...And to think I got to gig with this guy on trumpet. He hired me to play a number of gigs with him..He was and is a wonderful person to work with and has a great funny personality.... In the Army Band he always kept us laughing. He just continued to grow musically and has stunned the world with his talent. I have a great photo with him..just leaving the Army back when...

That was beautiful! ;_; Imagine if Bowie was there to sing along to that rendition. It's nice to hear Garson by himself, though. He adds a sense of sophistication to this version that can't be found in the original.
