To all the Canadians out there.. DO NOT BUY an Android based phone from Rogers. The reason is because Rogers are supplying all HTC handsets with OLD Android firmware. Confirm with them that it's Minimum version 1.6 (Donut) before you buy. Rogers always tries to trick people, which is why they have a huge Monopoly in Canada. I was shocked to hear that they even charge customers for INCOMING SMS messages and calls!!!! WTF???? That's a scam if ever there was one..

@DigitalNinja2012 But surely that makes no legal sense. If you receive a marketing call or an SMS ad message, you didn't ask them to call or sms you? So why should you be charged for it? Thats fraudulant activity, charging customers for incoming calls and sms messages is aiding and abetting fraud. I don't think Bell charges for incoming. Also for those of you who don't know. FIDO is owned by Rogers.

@henryvli No, here in the UK T-Mobile release firmware updates over the air and also in the US. I have friends over in Toronto and BC and, both have gotten screwed rotten by Rogers. If you have broadband from Rogers, see if you can get Shaw cable. It may be a more cost effective option.

You got it backwards... The Rogers version is has Google's features on it but it's not a Google-Branded phone. The MyTouch 3G is actually the Google-Branded phone. But the MyTouch 3G is available in more colours, so at least you won that part

im the opposite.. i bought the dream first (G1) then returned it and got this one.. keyboard was a pain for big hands.. keys bigger on virtual keyboard on magic.. and intuitive is way better. no virtual keyboard on canadian G1

Yes the Magic has more RAM and ROM, which shows in the video, since none of the applications are killed, they are all live, and its running great compared to the dream/G1. go for the G1 unless your carrier Rogers is getting the Samsung I7500

Rogers is changing officially changing their contract. They are increasing their texting rates. By law they can't just change a contract, we signed up for this and they all of a sudden change it to that. So we are given 30 days to accept the new contract (by doing nothing) or by cancelling it. We can cancel since the contract we signed up for is not valid.
