i usually like to go out with 9 banshees, an exarch, eldrad and jain zar in a wave serpant. guide doom and fortune and when you charge people you usually always pummel them with a wave of power weapon attacks with re-rolls
Eldrad does great with a unit of 8 banshees, he is a seer that can cast 2-3 psychic powers and he has a power weapon that wounds on 2+!! you won't need a second far seer if you use this unit well.
@theoutrspacefrog *butts in* Hm, not really: charging a unit with defensive ones will still negate the charge bonus, but I think the mask overrides the offensive ones when charging in cover. So, your banshees are in cover, an enemy with offensive grenades charges in, but still strikes last because of the masks.
I am trying a new set up with my banshees, its 10 banshees and Yuriel autarch of Iyanden in waveserpent, im hoping Yuriel will kill 3 or 4 of the enemy before the banshees even get their attacks, do you think it might work or is a bad idea?

Well he's a troop upgrade so you can still only have one per Genestealer Brood and I imagine he will have some kind of stat reduction but since I havent seen the new dex yet I don't know for sure.
Either way it's not that much of a big deal. I've charged Banshees at BL led stealers and it is nowhere near as one sided as you may think, in fact of all the units I've seen Stealers fight they do the best since they get to go first in round 1, if the Stealers are Doomed then you do even better.
These are designed for tougher units like Necrons, Space Marines. If I was facing a hoard army, I'd use striking scorpions due to the ammount of attacks i'd get.
These ladies seem like a Counter-Melee unit rather than a traditional assault unit. Seems like they'd work really well in close support to a ranged unit. When that horde of Ork Choppas comes running toward you, you send these out to intercept them. Your shooters don't get their hands dirty then. I'm not up on the rules, so you'd have to work out the theory-vs-practice on that one for me.
This is what I see them used as quite a lot, and do myself on occasion. I prefer to field them aggressively purely because I have found it to be very effective, though a Wave Serpent is 100% necessary for this. The counter option can work without one if you stick them in cover near the unit you want to guard.
In general I like to hunt with them. People are scared of them and in a fast moving Serpent they draw and shrug off a lot of fire as well as being devestating when they jump out and charge
I have used mirrorswords on my exarch since I got my banshees, the only problem I have is when I try fightin Ghaz, in the 5 matches I have played against him, Ghaz has never been killed
i made an awesome level where i had to defend an entire city from a huge army of banshees you probobly guessed i got wiped out my leman russ's and heavy weapons didnt help worth crap and the basilicks worked ok but i still died
A lot of people I know complain that things like Banshees attract too much enemy fire. I see this as a plus, and not just for distraction's sake: Your opponent can't afford to ignore them, if he does they'll make mincemeat of his favourite units.
out of the eldar elites i think that the banshees are my favourite. the phoenix lord for them is awesome and is deffiately one of the better ones. great unit. great video
Yeah she's pretty awsome, I was thinking of doing Phoenix Lords at the same time as their aspects but when the Scorpion video ran to 9:59 I changed my mind!

these probably wont work against nids that well cause since a broodlord is now a troop choice it can wipe them out
