  • @slamdunk011094 Brian O' Donnell.

he was 11 at the time.

  • Imagine stealing basic grain to feed your family being caught and sent to prison for life never to see your family again. Wondering till the end whether they survived the famine while you sat in prison. My Lord times can be tough. Governments and authority can be cruel. These are the times that try men's souls.

  • @TheTrevelyansway Botany Bay was a port in Australia. The British convicts were allowed to wander free there, which is the reason why the Aborigine race died out.

A few prisoners escaped to China, but not many. You just had to live your life out in Australia.

What's worse is that even if you had served your sentence, you probably would've had to wait for a few extra years for a ship to take you home because they arrived so rarely.

Just a few little facts :)

  • sounds like the recording has been distorted... imo.

  • @bigkahunaburg3r Thats because it was recorded on the side of the road, well the vocals anyway.. I havent been in Dublin in a long time, but last time I was there (around 1999 I think), there was homeless boys aged between 6 and 10, standing on upside-down buckets on grafton street singing as loudly as they could, singing though their lives depended on it, probably because it did! Some had God awful voices, but how could you not give em at least a few coppers with the dirty faces on em.

  • @entertainme121 haha I agree :)
