There's some simbolism, because the card she gives him with the ring on it is the queen of hearts, and the king of hearts is known as the suicide king, so the queen of hearts is the suicide queen. I'm not sure if that was on purpose or not, but i thought that was cool simbolism. :)

I just found out about the DD's today, and i love 'em!!! I missed out the last few years. BTW i found them on lastFM through Nervous Cabaret, a good band as well.

As for the video, I actually quite liked it. Not as dramatic or theatrical as you would expect from the song, but still, it works on at least two levels. So I don't really see any problems with it.

there's nothing wrong with alternative interpretations of music, clearly this song just meant something different to the person who made this video, so rather than complaining about the irrelevance of it, try and appreciate the different point of view this video portrays. if anything, Dresden Dolls are all about interpretation, most of their songs are quite cryptic at times and its easy to apply most of em to situations other than those they were orignally written about.

I personally wouldn't have placed this video with this song, but that's just me. The video was very, very well done. The only thing is, with the lyrics of the songs focusing more on the woman in the story, I would have preferred to see more of her in the video. Just a little more story and a little less Magic Show.
