I played it and finished it. Story line is good but not as good as gothic. Combat system is 10 times better than in gothic 3 and about the same as in gothic 1 and 2 its easy yes but atleast its not broken.The acting of the characters was good for me others say its chessy. Only thing i didnt liked in the game was the so few made character models.

i have this game, i have been at the Don`s Camp and it was not so entertaining.. but it was kind of acceptable. But then i go to Harbour town, and there is like 10.000 side quest, it`s TO MUCH!

and the fighting is to hard, it sucks actually!

like on quest, bring 5 armour pieces to a guy, and you get 400 GOLD

But 1 piece cost 200 GOLD, why should i pay 1000 GOLD in exchange for 400GOLD and some experiece points!?

One thing is for certain.. this game sucks ASS! oblivion is waaay better !

well not too sure what quest your talking bout cuz i just started the game....but you can sneak around like oblivion and try to steel from the chests or just start a fight and the guards will not get involved....and its fighting is very easy if you have the patience and unlike oblivion you HAVE to use your shield more often....

This is not only like Gothic 3. It's the same engine, the same graphic, the same gameplay, nearly the same creatures (except their names) and the same stupid bugs. Actually this is Gothic 3 with other names.

Yes I played this game, very good RPG.

The combat takes some getting used to because its a great challenge. Once you learn how to roll, parry and you grow your characters traits. It won't be that foreign, and it will be enjoyable. I used a staff, and I kicked ass.

Resources like gold are limited to come by so you gotta be efficient. But after selling all my stuff, I had like 14,000 gold by the end of my game. I recommend this game, very fun.

Only difference is cause they couldn't use old name Gothic,so they gave him new name Risen...

Gothic 4 bought some other company and made Gothic 4 who looks like WoW...

Risen is actually Gothic,with different name...

give it a chance? im surprised many people are being negative about this game. I ordered it form Amazon and just got the PC version (USA) this morning. Im fortunate enough to have a very good rig and with everything maxed, its just awsome. I love RPGs and have been following Risen for a while now, so maybe Im a bit biased, but again I just think its a cool game. Very good graphics, I like how its shows distance (3d), great immersive atmosphere, and overall looks fairly polished

if you like RPGS, then you won't be dissapointed. I abme to play with the graphics maxed and it looks pretty good. This is a decent game to hold you over till Dragon Age comes out in Novenmber
