In 1526 Afonso wrote two letters concerning the slave trade to the king of Portugal, complaining of Portuguese complicity in purchasing illegally enslaved people.

His letter of 5 October 1514 reveals the connections between Afonso's men, Portuguese mercenaries in Kongo's service and the capture and sale of slaves by his forces, many of which he retained in his own service.

The Slave TradeIn 1526 Afonso wrote a series of letters complaining about the behavior of the Portuguese in his country and their role in the developing slave trade. At one point he accused them of assisting brigands in his own country and illegally purchasing free people as slaves. He also threatened to close the trade altogether. However, in the end, Afonso established an examination committee to determine the legality of all enslaved persons presented for sale.

The grotesque pathology of the Roman Catholic clerics was then brought back to Europe and their methods of torture are well documented and available for all to see. Their nasty little secret is out but people still don’t connect it to the slave trade and South America because the RCC still exists and still people are afraid of the hellfire they’ve been threatened with for 500 years.

For a 100 years from 1492 the Roman Church, Spain and Portugal engaged in a secret bestial and macabre blood fest in the Americas. As they hacked their way through all the civilisations they could find, the Church gave dispensation proportional to the wickedness of the crimes. The frescos depicting mass burnings of living people are of real events. 10,000’s of scholarly clerics saw it all and said nothing.

@LibertaerUeberAlles ALL the Abrahamic religions have slavery as part of their moral reasoning and heritage. The Bible was frequently cited to defend the continuance of slavery. But fortunately the Enlightenment thinkers were able to develop a moral discourse that found slavery repugnant. Of course, Islam was founded by a slaver and they've been at it for 1,400 years. Most of the so-called 'ethnic, tribal and civil' wars in Africa are better described as Islamic takeovers. Yup, blame the Jews.

Nope, my point is that the slave trade between Africa and the Americas was totally dominated by Jewish merchants and ship owners. Not by Europeans. See videos by Dr. Tony Martin.
If I remember correctly, he even describes how Jewish slave traders and "money changers" trailed behind the conquering Romans to fully enslave the subjugated populations.

It was not until the Enlightenment that the idea of slavery was regarded as repugnant. The Arab Islamic slave trade continues today in Africa. Islam was founded by a slaver and his ideology based on the whole idea of submission to tyrannical domination.

Seems like I saw this on TV recently. Where's the video? Anyways, that past should all be considered academic at this point. I, like any decent caucasian American, wants to see all of my African Americans brothers live up to their full potential.
