  • Yeah, that's not Photoshop, or Illustrator. I've never seen that program ever before... I'm sure that it's just some sort of professional fashion photography tool.

    But anyway... I think she looked prettier after, I think that girls should think they're beautiful anyway, but this is a MODEL. Wouldn't you want to look good on national billboards where millions of people see you everyday? I'm sure you would NOT want them to see your zits and maybe baggy eyes.

    and no way in hell is that photoshop.

    the palettes, the layers, the channels. it doesn't even look the same

    as for illustrator..why the hell would anyone be using a vector based program to do edits on an image?

  • In response to the cynics, you're right it is an advertisment. At least they're trying to send a positive message while they do it. This may not be exactly how it happens, but it's exaggerated to show people that those girls aren't as perfect as they seem. It's shedding light on the issue of body image in a massive and public way. I applaud dove for their campaign. Who better to spread the word about realistic ideals than a multi-million dollar company?

  • The commercial is exagerated, the girl was "uglied" down, so that it would have a bigger impact. However models in magazines do not go through that degree of post-production editing - beleive me - I work in the photo agency business. Most of the models are genuinely skinny and are touched up most often because of bad lighting, or minor skin problems.

  • This was a marketing ploy to get women stirred up about an issue to buy Dove's products, because they know women are sensitive to the issue and it will easily get many women aboard. Nothing more, nothing less. Don't fall for it. You should be comfortable enough in your own skin to not judge others for their beauty or lack thereof. Everything has beauty, though not everybody sees it.
