Had my gallbladder taken out in February of 2009. Woke up with absolutely no pain. Went home the next day. Never needed a painkiller. Only took a couple to help me sleep, lol. Had to sleep on my back for a week. The most annoying thing was the drain that was sticking out of me along with the collection cup attached. Had to empty it every few hours when it got full. That tube being pulled out of me 10 days after surgery felt like an exorcism. I could feel the tube being pulled through my insides.
I hear people saying they recovered so quickly, went home within the first day of surgery, having little pain.. WHAT?!
I just had my gallbladder taken out 4 days ago, as soon as I woke up from anesthesia I was crying in pain for over 2 hours until they gave me a pain reliever.
Most painful shit of my life. I'm walking around like an old lady crouched over, even on prescription ibuprofin and percocet. D: I don't know how you people do it.... so painful on my part.
Had my gallbladder removed laparoscopically 10 months ago, and was surprised at how easy it was! I have medical conditions that could have caused complications, but it didn't happen. Was out of surgery and on my way home in 5 hours (hubby driving, of course.) Slept & took meds first day, then just ice pack for 2 days. Back to normal (except heavy lifting) in a few days. Piece of cake! No serious after-effects and no more pain when eating fatty foods. Now have 77 small gallstones in a jar.
Getting stuck in the common bile duct. Had my gallbladder out yesterday morning, in alot of pain today. I would take this pain a hundred times over than go through the pancreatitis again!
@2woBeForgotten Had mine removed 10 weeks after c section. Surgery wasn't bad at all. Gallstones pain was worse than labour pains though. Glad it's over.
I'm 22 yrs. Old and after a year of this severe pain I'm finally getting my gallbladder removed on Monday..I'm really nervous about the whole thing:( ii pray all goes as planned:)
just had one 3 days ago. extreme pain. but it gets better day by day. glad i didnt watch any of these videos before i went in ha. pretty nasty. aviod it if ya can
Had my done about a week ago. Will be out of work for another week. Glad I had it done! I no longer have to be concerned about when and where another attack would occur!
@chrisdamage83 : mine took about an hour and a half. usually like from my recovery for laproscopic it took two weeks i finally got back to work today, lol.
Getting my gull bladder taken out today. Hopefully no more attacks. Tummy growling, haven't had anything to eat for the past five days.. I'm twentyone and I hardly eat fast food, why do I have to go through this..
Had this done on Tuesday. Been feeling surprisingly ok but pain has picked in a bit today. Definitely worth it as the alternative is waiting in the shadow of a potentially fatal pancreatitis attack!
I'm 45 yr old female and had this procedure 5-11-11. I had to stay overnight for observation. The surgeon told me that it was a challenging case because my bile duck is big and they have to use a special staples. It's been couple of days now and it's a little bit sore but I felt better already. I start eating regular food. One thing though that I have to let you guys know is when you need to go to the bathroom. You might not able to empty your bowel . Thanks to the new technology!!!
I had my gallbladder removed on April 4th and had very little pain post op. As long as you don't move to much, you almost can't feel it. When moving you're a little sore, but that's to be expected what with the surgeons messing around with your insides. It was totally worth it, though, because now I can eat like a normal person again and not worry about those terrible gallbladder attacks.
I had my "attacking" gallbladder removed on April 5th and I feel so much better. Was in at 6 a.m. and home by 2 p.m resting well. am so glad that I did not watch this video before though. For all that they did, I really didn't have much pain after the 3 day. I reccomend this to anyone who has had a 'gallbladder attack'.
This video is crazzyy!. I had mine removed weds March 23rd. I slept wen i came home that same day. Im still somewhat sore to this day i can move around but i get horrible pains in my stomach still. idk if thats normal or what. I jus wanna feel better. i also cant eat anything without running to the bathroom with in minutes. But im so glad i got it removed dont have to deal with them pains anymore.
I had mine done 2 weeks ago. Same day "drive through" surgery... LOL. Got there at 9 am, was home by 6 pm, and the surgeon was delayed 2 hours so really only about 7 hours total. Woke up after 95 minutes under with an ice pack. Off the pain pills in 3 days, back on at night for a couple days, and off now for a week and back to normal. It really makes a difference when you see it live instead of drawings. Now comes the fun part... the bill! At least I made my deductible early this year....
I had this done on Friday the 28th. Not at all as bad as I expected. After coming around my pain level was a 4 and I had some nausea. The wonderful nurses took care of that and I was home pain and nausea free. 2 days post-op, my pain is not bad at all. Some tenderness at the navel and that is it. Have not needed to use my prescription of percocet and have no intention of filling in the script. This pain is nowhere near the pain I had during my attacks.
@jagvirdee You are very lucky.I just had mine out this past thursday the 24th.I had no nausea and very little pain on the first day.The next 2 days post op were brutally painful. Now its the 4th day post op and I feel so much better.
I had this surgery performed four days ago and I feel as good as new. The surgery looks worse than it actually feels in the first few days of recovery. I'm just so thankful I'm born in the modern day of general anesthesia! I am so grateful to my surgeon for making it possible for me to eat food again... any food. I couldn't eat for a week before my surgery! Now I feel as good as new!
@SSHector88 I'm not making fun of you at all but it just sounds funny when you say "my gallbladder attacked me" lol I'm in the boat right with you though mine is being removed on March 24 cause it's also been "attacking" me. LOL at myself. :D
Had this operation last October 17. I was so nervous. But after seeing the video, everything went fine. I can walk a day after. Hopefully go to work after a few days. I hope there's no complications.
I did this surgery 5 days ago. It wasn't as much bad as I expected. I feel great now, I didn't use any pain reliefers except the first 12 hours. I had mor than 40 gallstons like small pyrimides. The doc has a big experience and this is the reason that everything gone fine!
I had the operation 40 days ago. Absolutely no pain whatsoever from the incisions a bit of shoulder pain the day after that lasted for 24h but was nothing to worry about.
No side effects, went to work 2 days after the operation. Ate light for like a month after the op and I am now back to eating everything I used to.
Overall, best decision I ever made was to get rid of a malfunctioning gall bladder that could lead to very severe problems.
Good luck to all remember to pick experienced doctor.
I had the surgery 2 days ago. Not so bad as I expected.Of course you are soar but I already switched from percocet to Ibufrofen and walking around. So far so good. Don't get youself be caught in the horror stories , they create unecessary anxiety, everybody is different .
Had this surgery 3 days ago very little pain i haven't had to take any pain killers and bowel movements have been very easy, man do i have gas though.
I just had this done on Wednesday, 3days ago, and so far I am feeling ok, I AM sore most at the xyphoid process just underneath my left breast. I take the pain pills religiously every 6 hrs and stool softeners along with prunes. My throat hurt so bad after surgery that I chose to buy some Werthers candies that help alot. LOTS of ice water, ice pack on the belly, and rest. Don't forget to eat soft or liquid diet for poops sakes. The first time was a killer man!
I had this done literally 6 hours ago! It is a little uncomfortable, but not mind numbingly excruciating like I thought it'd be. My frikkin throat hurts though from the anesthesia tube. And I have hiccups...which make my stomach hurt
@pika23 So weird!! I got the hiccups after too! However, I had a lot of pain afterwards, but I remember the worst was the gas pain in my abdomen. That's what I remember the most...more than the pain afterwards, though I do remember that it was hard for me to move around afterwards. Dunno if it makes a difference, but I'm overweight...maybe that's why it hurt me more?
I had this surgery done in March, it's easy to see why I was so sore! Interesting to see how it works. @Sandii3307...I understand what it feels like! I'm still left with unpleasant after-effects of this surgery!
