I've never heard of Joaquin Phoenix before, but he makes a very pleasant change to the usual big mouthed talk about me, me, fucking me guests that Letterman usually has on. I like this guy. He's genuine and sincere.

at first i thought this was real..but other videos show his producer follwing him around with a camera behind him, who is reportedly doing a film...its fake..everywhere he goes the same documentry crew are following him..look it up

i agree with rhamel86. i wasn't sure how to react to this. I laughed, but then felt kind of embarrassed for pheonix. Has he lost is mind? and if so, it doesn't help when the audience and tw*t letterman is taking the piss. But, he is bringing it on for himself, with that farmer jiles beard and becoming a rapper. Nervous brake down? Maybe he just had enough of the limelight or just misses his brother.
This is really kind of surreal and ironic, the entire aspect of it. Letterman is being a total asshole and (call me crazy) Joaquin seems very sincere in everything that he's saying. I think he's observing the absurdity about the spectacle of celebrity, but that isn't to say that there isn't something seriously wrong with him. At 2:03, that sigh he gives at the thought of coming back to the world of an actor seems so morose. He might be on the verge of a breakdown, and folks are laughting at him
