Thank you titli... M bit weak in baking but m trying hard in it. Any ways being from India I loved ur recipe of rasmalai and gulab jamun. I made them and both were awesome.
@up4itgal Sometimes I round up a bit, and sometimes I round down a bit. The idea should be to either follow the grams or the ounces, but not both at the same time! Good comment, thanks.
i always had this question. Why do we have to grease the baking pan before lining it with a parchment paper. We can sprinkle some water to make the paper stick, right?? Is there any specific reason. Please reply. Thanks.
Only thing I did different was I made a cherry glaze for the top. I used a can of cherry pie filling but drained the sauce off to use them in the cake. I had all the sauce left over and didn't want to waste it, so I mixed some with a cup of powdered sugar until it was the right consistency. Delicious! <3
my mother in law gave me few days ago such cherries and didn't know what to do with them until you broke the spell so i made this cake and added few sultanas too and sprinkled icing sugar on top yaaaaaamyy
My grandma always used to bake this. I don't like cherries so she would always bake a smaller loaf of the mix just for me without them in it. I love almond cake ^^.
..I bet that would be OK w a few walnuts thrown in to the batter? A coffee, with a tinge of Kardemumma would be cool, as an Arab aquaintence has taught me, ( I think it was,) to add for a flavour Arabesque. I mean it might taste good w the cake and cherries. We could all meet in Andalusia and dress up 12th Century and talk in retro-civil tone: philosophy?
huh...? monkeys 'paint their nuts red?' N'rmind!..pr'olly better I don't go down that rabbithole of a funny phrase! No comment.
Without the cherries will it still taste good...Almond tart? :P - sorry dont like glace cherries... :( My grandma puts it on the top of her cookies...I always took them every single one hahah
I love the how you formed the ingredients into a nice circle :) The cake looks really lovely. I'd like a bite of that... so I might make it myself some time.
@oKeegan I have a suspicion that they would turn to mush while cooking. Must admit, I've never tried. Mind you, fresh cherries are not available all year round...

@suppusoora It does help the paper stick to the pan at the beginning, but also ensures that the paper comes away from the pan at the end.
