had a chance to talk to paul penix at cabelas, very knowledgable and nice guy. had a few questions on my bowmadness xs and he tuned it free of charge. He also showed me a few new up and coming products. very pleased with pse and staff dont know if ill shoot anything but pse
Just bought an omen, great bow love how smooth it is for a 2 cam bow. I had to buy 26 inch cams, and was wondering if anybody know how to time the cams. With the bow at rest the timing marks are both identical on each control cable. The only thing I could figure is that the draw stops must touch at the same time, which I have done. But is that the only way to time the bow?
I’ve taken 21 big game animals since receiving this bow around the first of November in 2009, and it hasn’t failed me at any point. In testing, I’ve shot the bow as far as 300 yards at a target, holding an average group of 16 inches at 300, 12 inches at 200, and 6 inches at 100 yards. There are shooters out there who can hold tighter groups than I, but this has been my experience with the bow. I would, and do recommend it to any serious shooter.
This bow is one of the more efficient bows in production. The comments of speed not being everything are true, but it certainly does help. The speed it delivers is a great quality, allowing a hunter to shoot a heavier arrow, producing more kinetic energy. It also offers a flatter trajectory, providing the shooter with more accuracy and consistency. The strong draw cycle is also a good quality, causing the shooter to be more consistent with their form.
i cant believe people are bitching that speed isnt good. let me remind everyone that the english shot 180# bows on average. i think that was for a reason and broadhead friendly wtf. Look up modern day archers in papua new guinea, their arrow heads are as high as 3000 grains i shit you not and i know how huge that is. They hunt for a living with 7 foot bamboo bows and long ass arrows. broad head friendly what has happened to archery.
Hey naked camera guy, more speed is always good, especially when you can ad reliability, accuracy, and dependability . You should stay home and play with you're Captain.
And no, speed is not the main driving force for real bow enthusiests. It only makes people like you who have NO CLUE about real archery want to buy it. It's like speeds on a car, it can go 200 miles per hour, BUT THE SPEED LIMIT IS 60. Fast is not always good, Reliabilty, accuracy, dependability, ALL OUTWEIGH speed. You can be faster than hell, but not hit the broad side of a barn.
Hey, dumbass, didn't you read??? Not broadhead friendly.
Too much speed can cause a broadhead to drift, this is why it is almost a necessity to shoot Mechanicals with speed bows. However, I'll take my nice, calm, smooth captain over your rediculous need for speed. Speed is the most overrated thing in the archery business right now.
Shot the Omen two days ago at the shop that i shoot for. Our PSE rep brought it in, setup with a whisker bisquit rest, 28" draw, 60#'s it shot 309fps! Its draw was nice, and it was super quiet as well.
I have a hoyt alphamax, and a pse x-force my brother has the new mathews The pse has a more extreme draw cycle but i can shoot farther and more consistant with the pse than hoyts bow and mathews. hoyt has alot smoother draw cycle its a nice bow ,but I preffer mathews than hoyt . but my pse out performes them both especially at long distances I think you just need to learn how to shoot.
The bow is pretty fast but the bow is one of the uglyest bow out there. I went to a bow dealer and check it out and man, that bow is fucking suck compare to hoyt, bowtech, and mathew. don't recommend this bow speed is not everything. It's about performance, acuracy, and quility.
Nice bow, too much speed. That's right, I said it, too much speed. Probably won't be broad head friendly, mechanical broadheads would be better for it.
Think I'll stick with my Captain, after all, it ain't the bow it's the indian.
Nice interview. Love seeing the X technology make even better. As for the other comment, the X-Force is reported on almost all forums as to be one of the bows with the LEAST amount of problems. Not counting people using the wrong press and messing up their own limbs.
almost $1000
