But his heart is broken and he is hardened by repeated rebuffs by CPT. Hammer. It makes him now yearn for power and the fear of others. When his Death Ray misfires and kills Penny, his character splits into the true Dr. Horrible (the refined evil in Billy Buddy) and the Billy Buddy that remains underneath. He steels himself for what has been done

well i love the concept of dr. horrible and the fact that it stars neil patrick harris make it win in that respect. but for musical stuff once more with feeling definitely wins. though i love these songs. it is hard to compare them because dr. horrible is so dreadfully short but able to keep it all together while once more was a small bit of the show. if they make a series or a continuation of dr. horrible it would definitely win!

I'm going to have to go with Once More with Feeling as well. For reasons already mentioned, like we had 5 seasons of pre-development. However, that episode and songs were written to really develop and foreshadow the events coming. i.e. Anya/Xander, Willow and Tara's break up, Buffy being in Heaven, Giles leaving. It was done extremely well. Anyone who wants to talk Buffy hit me up!

I'd go with Once More with Feeling as a whole, but I like the individual songs of Dr. Horrible better. Maybe it's the fact that the cast has the ability to bring out an energy to each song that many of the songs on Once More lacked.

On a related note, hearing this song makes me immediately think of Willow. Felicia's voice would not seem out of place to me if it had been coming out of Alyson Hannigan's face (Felicia also gives me a Willow vibe on "The Guild.")
