@urzrem I really enjoyed your appearance on the show. It makes the audio engineering community feel like family. I appreciate your enthusiasm and positivity. It made an amazing episode even stronger!
Wow... I've been watching this show since the start of it and learned a ton of great stuff... Im also from Russia but live here in the States absolutely love producing/engineering do it 24/7, also play in an indie band for a living and were signing a record deal with WARNER in 2 weeks... It was sooo awesome to see Roman on the show! Молодец Pома!
Dave Isaac's sentiment about his proudest moment recording his father's friend, James Brown was touching. Dave Pensado's contribution to the same question about strapping on a guitar...not quite as tender.
Oh man i was so psyched seeing Dave Isaac on Pensado's Place. He comes down to Long Beach City College and does lectures almost every semester. Its always a pleasure and his mixes sound amazing. Great show.
Another great show.. ! Really appreciate Mr. Dave Isaac’s comment when working with Stevie on turning the lights out.. remind’s me of Sir George Martins book.. “All you need is EARS”.. it’s so important for us (who have the “best job”).. with all the fancy GUI’s we should not neglect the need to train our ears.. and NOT mix with our eyes.. Thanks Dave’s.. Jon Quinn.
Another great show! Listening to Mr. Isaac seemed to take something that can be perceived as quite technical, and turned it into something that is natural, logical, and just makes sense... If you just listen. Shout out to Roman! Nice close to the show Dave! (on my way to "Guitar" Center right now!)
Great episode and actually very infromative as Dave was asking the right sort of questions! Dave Isaac seems like a really cool guy too, woul definetely like to see him on again.
Thanks to Dave and Dave to make it so much clearer to me. And I love the Idea of listening in the dark. If I could only find the faders with my trackball! :-)
I love that "disctraction" thing! I call il differently... My reasoning is about guiding the listener to a safe path into the mix so that I made easy for her to follow the lyrics or whatever I feel important at that moment. But then I make sure that you can focus on every other element in the mix... That's strange, it seems that there are two opposing forces: Definition and unity. And my goal is to find the best compromise about this two extremes...
i love what dave isaac said about creating a listening situation and guiding the ear to the different elements ! i had to laugh a little , when thinking of some people/listeners , which can´t tell , if a piano or a guitar is playing ..yes, they are really out there .
I loved this episode! Hooray for the return of "yaaaaaay", and Dave Isaac is a master. So wonderful to learn from him. Thanks everybody for another great show.
This is the greatest show ever....Many thanks to these pros
