  • E-P-I-C!!!! i really think this is one of the very best songs of the reformed band!

  • Jhonny Foreva..Hats Off...

  • iwas there that night.got to take pics with gary, ed, leon.

,billy, and dale....it will always be one of my fondest memories....

  • Seen Skynyrd in concert when this album came out. One of the best songs from this line up.

  • Any body know where i can find the picture thats behind them in the video? Ive looked on google and can find it...please help!

  • só tenho 17 mas sei oq é musica de verdade!!

  • It ain't over till we have our Freedom!

The lawless out of control Federal Government must go!

  • Thanks LynSkyn 1981, you`ve got some great videos

  • They should put this on the set list now, awesome song.

  • one of my all time favorite tunes. i relate to it too much. thank you skynard.

  • I'm not sure it's about Gary because it was written in the Nineties and at the time Billy Powell, Leon Wilkeson, and Ed King were still in the band. If someone could please explain this.

  • @hAitztOn I was confused aswell, but I think gary, ronnie and allen were the ones who started skynyrd, so he's kinda the last one in the band, or "The Last Rebel" because billy, leon and Ed all joined in I think later where they replaced a guitarist or bassist, but billy was there first keyboardist, but he didn't join the band when they first started.

  • @hAitztOn I think this song is about Gary because he was the last original founding member of the band....BUT I MIGHT BE WRONG

  • @hAitztOn It could easily apply to gary today seeing as how he's the last remaining member in the group, but when they wrote it I think it was just like any other song, telling a story really.

  • Back when the post crash band still sounded good and wrote good songs.

  • yeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaa gerneral lee is the boss of me, the SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN. yehaa gary, last original member alive. R.I.P to those who died in the plane crash.

  • Another good one. Thanks for posting.

  • the South will rise again & when it does I will leave godforesaken Massachusetts

  • AWESOME SONG!!!!!

  • I have this whole concert on VHS. It was on pay per view in 1993 & someone recorded it for me.

  • yehaaaaa rossington!

  • JOHNNY LOOKS KILLER IN THE REBEL COAT........

  • Love This Song!!!!!!!!!

  • who is the drummer in this vid?

  • @raycookguitar3 Custer is the drummer.

  • The Horse on the cover of this album just passed away September 2010. His birth name was Rebel and he was 33 years old. A fine horse he was. I miss him everyday.

  • The song is about Gary. He's the last rebel. It has nothing to do with the south or the Civil War.

  • This song should be on every set list!

  • Thank You for this LynSkyn1981,but you need to upload all of this Classic Show.

Please upload all of this when you can. Thanks,,Peace...

  • i think the song is about the confederacy maybe it can be for gary too

  • Sometimes in my past I felt like "The Last Rebel" like I was all alone. Awesome tune...

  • I never got to see the original Skynyrd in concert. The first time I seen them was just after Leon's passing. They were supposed to play in Reno but the show was cancelled. I did get to see them a few months later in Yuma, Az with Billy and Gary also Hughie Tomasson was with the band. It was awesome I had my Confederate Battle Flag and was dancing around the audience, Skynyrd Loved it and so did the audience! The second time I seen them was with Hank Williams Jr. In San Bernardino.

  • @LynSkyn1981 Thank you very much ;-) and sorry about my English... it is sad a very beatiful song, it's my favourite. I love feeling in this song

  • @LynSkyn1981 do you think leon maybe knew something was going to happen to him

  • @landonhuyyugttdft Towards the last 6 months of his Life ,Leon wasnt in good health, he would sometimes no-show shows, which is why Ean Evans was there at each show, so he could fill in. One night Leon and Ean were guests with a bar band, and after a drink or 2 Leon told Ean that he wasnt going to make it much longer in life, and he wanted Ean to take his place ,when it was his time. Ean got the call ,and became a band member, with Leon's blessing

  • @landonhuyyugttdft also, Leon kicked the drug and alcohol habit for a while, but it was on his birthday that someone gave him an 8-ball and thats when Leon got back in his old ways. Leon had several health issues, ans his Liver and insides were all messed up., towards the end Leon looked like he was in his 70's, ,but he was really 49. it really sucks because Leon lived a terrible life, just like Allen Collins, Leon only wanted to perform his music, entertain the fans and put his son threw collage

  • @landonhuyyugttdft I was supposed to meet Leon, but 2 weeks before, he had passed away , We had the chance to exchange e-mails, and weirdly as it is, he mailed me an autograph photo of himself, and it arrived in the mail 1 day after he passed.

  • @LynSkyn1981 I always wondered about his death it was strange to me but I guess he knew he couldn't take all that stuff anymore. It really did suck when he passed.

  • fucking class tune where do you go to get the grey coat

  • 'till later Billy! R.I.P. It's been a pleasure. Oh, and folks, the South's gonna do it again as they say...

  • In Gettysburg they killed many good men... No medals for those Jenky cowards...

  • what a song, wow

  • How? most of the band died in a 1977 plane crash.

  • I know it, I know it very well. But the band members, who died in that crash (R.I.P.) got replaced by other brilliant musicians you know it, or?
