  • Okay wait, im literally about to switch ram in my Computer. NOW TIME ME!

    ...

    ...

    ...

Done. I think they are off on their facts. Just a tad.

  • why'd they pick a ram upgrade as something that takes 3 hours? Seriously this video is fail. apparently the creator uses a mac and has never had the instant gratification of a 2 minute ram upgrade...

  • i add ram to my mac all the time u just need to no how.

  • it doesn't take 3 hours to install ram on a PC.

  • lol... PHYSCO PH.D ON DA LOOSE!

  • DAMN PC! YOU SCARY!

  • does it take 1 hour and 30 mins to unscrew 1 screw theres only 2 screws and a mother board you pop it in and then you brag about how much ram you have 8 gigs on a pc laptop

  • Damn, if you have to get anything done nowadays you have to do it yourself. Three hours?

  • you guys are being to serious, you miss the hilarious joke

  • Ha Ha, Still so true. it's so easy to add ram to a mac, even my 17" Mac book pro. Good luck even trying to find your ram in a PC box, much less a PC laptop.

  • @1madDogz I can see my ram without taking the side of of my case off. I want to add ram to a mac, I get to go to the store and buy a new one.

  • @dabomb1357 Afraid to open a little door on the iMac?

  • @1madDogz Ive seen some Macs up close, shit looks complicated to operate and take apart

  • Mac: Whatcha doing there PC?

PC: I'm getting my memory upgraded to run Vista.

Mac: How's it going over there?

Technician: Should be another 3 hours.

PC: Are you soldering the damn RAM to my motherboard or something?

    *PC killing technician scene*

  • @Blivia:

That same anti virus program is going to fok up your pc a couple of weeks or months from now... good luck with that ! ;) :)

  • See, even an old PC can still kick ass!

  • 'UPRAGEDIN A MAC IZ SO SIMPEL! JUST GO TO APPEL STOAR AND BAUY NEW OAN!'

  • LOL omg

  • we replaced all four sticks of ram in my pc in less than 5 minutes including boot time

  • It's easy to install new ram into a PC.

New ram into a Mac? Just buy a new Mac. Or better yet, a PC.

  • @MissileExpansion Eh, it's actually really easy to switch your RAM on Mac's. Just dont talk about something you don't know of kiddie ;)

  • who the fuck takes 3hrs to install ram!?

  • @ImperialArmour Someone who uses a mac? I mean they buy them because they are "easy" to use. And they are damn hard to open to get to the ram slots

  • Hey Bill Gates can you help me program my Zune. Oh..............No wait. I have an ipod like the rest of the world!!! ha ha

  • well point is they both are rich truth is they dont hate each other they do it for the money

  • haha lolz

  • Apparently they think RAM needs drivers...

  • put PC on side

remove 2 thumbscrews and slide of side panel

(if replacing) unclip and pull out old ram

push new ram in till it clicks

slide side panel back on and redo thumbscrews

    done

    <100 seconds (6xDIMM's)

  • Putting RAM in takes 3 hours? Are you putting it in the damn slot or soldering it onto the board by hand?

  • @EdSabbath Dude don't you get it... PC aren't sold with too little RAM... ofcourse he is using something like XP and he wants to switch to Vista ! LOL.

  • it takes like 10 minutes for someone without any experience and it will keep warranty, now try to chance ipod batery

  • @JmsDrkx Yeah. The price for installing new RAM is crazy at shops. If all the non tech nerds learned how to do it, it would save them tons of cash. It's so simple.

Also, it really depends on the type of iPod. My Nano 2G needs to be pushed out of its metal sleeve to change the battery (I changed the flash card in it already, a consequence I had to pay for letting it sit in the sun for hours)

  • If this guy can do it in 3 hours only he's fokking hero and he should get a fokking medal from the president !

  • Also you foktards try installing all the service packs and patchers that's gonna take a whole day on fragment pc oh YEAH LOVE IT RIGHT THERE... and then it's gonna get infected within one minute connected the INNNNTTTERRRNEET OH YEAH. BYE BYE PC !

  • ... i've had PCs (all online so don't pull any of that douche-baggery on me) for my entire 13-year life and NONE of them have EVER gotten a virus even though i download something like every week

  • What a dumbass, your windows does automatic updates because you always online.

Try leaving your PC offline for a year or so, then see what happens ! ;)

  • i never said anything about updates

  • Whatever, you just lucky you never visitted an infected website ! ;) :)

  • @7677876 o ya ur not lying at all

  • sarcasm?

    ur right

i am exaggerating a little bit

what I meant was that I never had any virus that caused any major/noticable problems

  • @7977876 now tht i belive not being sarcastic lol

  • @skybuck2000

I would like to point out that I installed a five year old+ package of Windows XP recently. I went to an antivirus site, and picked up some protection, then went to Microsoft and got my updates. During this process I got not one virus on my machine. Try owning a PC with some common sense before you talk crap about them.

  • lol pc got embarrased!

  • 3 hours to install RAM?

Seriously... I not that much of a computer wizard but it took me like 1-2 minutes to do that...

  • these ads jus try to take the piss out of pcs, i changed mine in a few seonds!

  • Exactly, takes me 10 minutes at the most.

  • no it didnt

  • @fatsug50 you should try updating windows xp to vista for a laugh HAHA.

  • @skybuck2000 Why do you asume that I've got windows xp?

  • Yeah ok try updating vista to vista LOL.

  • that is the dumbest IT guy if it takes im 3 hrs to upgrade ram... took me about 2 minutes last week when I upgraded mine from 2GB to 4GB...

  • @devo85x install windows also not just put in RAM

  • he was only referring to the RAM upgrade when he said three hours... and not only that, I install windows all the time (including Vista) for people all the time when I am fixing their computers... it has never taken me three hours... in fact, unless they have a crappy hdd, I have it booted with drivers in under an hour. And he said "I am getting some new RAM so I can run Vista" Unless you really suck at english you would realize that he is literally saying he is ONLY getting ram...

  • wow, i really dont give a fuck

  • PC= for games and stuff

mac= for working and erhm, special websites without worrying about viruses at all:Þ

  • so are you telling me that your working place use mac for all their computors?

    I seriously doubt that

  • well, yeah. work with architecture so it's popular there

  • ok good for you

all working offices ive been to they use either Windows XP, Vista or 7

  • Wow....PC needs some chill pills! heh :)

  • Macs upgrade just fine, actually. Go into google and search "replacing ram in mac" and you will find plenty of websites that show how on all the different types of mac.

  • depending on your case, it can take less assuming the comp is already off. all it takes is:

    unplug power cable (1 second)

pop off side of case (5 seconds)

reach in, pop old RAM out (5-10 seconds)

pop new RAM in and secure carefully (10-30 seconds)

    close case (5 seconds)

    put cable in (1 second)

    power up, good to go.

  • not true at all i always upgrade my mac

  • Good job to everyone who did this and voided their warranty!

  • LMAO.... Funny :)

  • PC to Vista costs a RAM change, OS change from Mac costs a whole new freakin computer

  • well not even that if you already have a buttload of RAM

  • No it doesn't. My 12 year old Mac runs OSX5 (the most recent that came out in Sept was 6) without any problems. It is rare to have to replace the whole computer for an upgrade in the operating system, PC or Mac. Please learn a thing or two about computers in general before you make stupid statements like that.

  • I think we nead a funeral for that guy PC killed.

  • Either that or a ShamWow X)

  • When i got more RAM installed on my PC i was surprised that i paid $40 extra(aside from buying the ram sticks) for this guy to pop out the old ram stick, and pop in the 2 new ones, which took less than 5 minutes. Isnt the hardware for macs Moldered together?

  • lol theres no fucking difference in installing ram in a mac and pc.... hardware has nothing to do with difference in the operating systems

  • yeah its about... 30 sec;s to install some ram in the pc. 8 gigs mother fuckers

  • I was trying to set a record for time of installing 4GB DDR2 800 today, did it in 5 sec. on the first try.

  • 5 secs in the Mac...actually, no installing just inserting it

  • neither on pc you just insert it and go

  • nvr said u didn't. just sayin times have changed and computers dnt require days of memory installation or 6 and 7 floppies for an OS upgrade lol

  • Where? Is there a hole on the back or something?

  • for upgrading RAM on a mac?

its on the botton of the moniter on an iMac.

  • u need to unscrew the little door. note: the Ram may b a lil tuff to pull out so dnt worry about breaking anything. just pull the flap

  • Sanka is a name brand decaf coffee (also see Postum) - the orange label had an influence on decaf coffee pots with the bright orange handle

  • the first few were so brutally anti-mac that poor Chris Elliot probably was on the hit-list of about 200 lesbian vegetarian mac users... so to save his life he had to balance things out.

  • 3 hours?

Wow, that tech is really milking it.

It takes me about 70 seconds to add a pair of sticks.

How long does it take to add RAM to a Mac?

Oh, that's right, it's a Mac. You just buy a new one.

  • um...i take bout 5 secs or so. and Mac RAM is upgradable btw

  • When I added RAM and a new hard drive to my mac, it took about 20 minutes: 1 for the RAM and 19 to unscrew the old hard drive and put in the new one. Changing or adding RAM to a mac really isn't any different than a pc.

  • ecept it took you 20 minutes and on a pc it takes 5 tops

  • So it took 15 more minutes. Big deal. It's not a long time, ya know. My point was that Macs can be upgrade quite easily, contrary to what ignorant PC users believe.

I have and continue to use both PCs and Macs. I don't have a problem with either. I own a Mac at home. I work with PCs at work. Outside of the starting software, price, size, and # of viruses/spyware they get, they're not all that different. Fighting about which one is better is really dumb.

  • AND you voided your warranty. Apple does not want you putting new hardware into your machine.

  • No i dont, I have a mac pro i can replace hard-drives add new ones change the cd drivers graphics cards etc. all without voiding my warranty.

  • @fruad

You can change your graphics card? how?

  • @Monkeybombs13 I have a mac pro they make it really easy

  • @fruad oh i thought you said macbook pro

  • @baconmage3

lol, I own a pc, and honestly like Windows machines better but I must point something out.

If you don't -build- your machine, odds are the moment you open it up, you've voided your warranty. Your PC's provider (Sony, HP, ETC..) want to be the only ones that can service, and provide for your PC, so that they get the money out of it. So the it's pretty much the same for PC as it is Mac warranty wise.

  • @eslake At least RAM is the only thing you can change to a Mac.

  • @eslake you can change the ram on a mac, as well as the hardrive and other hardware components.

It's funny how many assumptions people make without even test driving what they're talking about, it really makes them look like idiots.

  • @DMAN123223

Your right, he might be an idiot but Macs still suck so................

  • @eslake ughh dumass it takes 30 seconds for me asshole

  • 30 minutes for installing Win7, for about 10 sec for put in more ram?

  • It takes me 5mins to install Moblin or 10mins for Ubuntu/Fedora on my netbook compare to 40mins for Windows 7 (which reduces my battery life )

  • it doesnt take three hours, it takes about 1 minute

  • You idiot. It takes 3 hours (well, they exaggerating: it's actually 2 hours) not for installing a new RAM, but for installing new OS.

  • it doesn't take 3 hours to install ram!all you have to do Is remove the side cap and plug it into your motherboard

  • He said "I think someone should switch to Sanka."...which is more of a baby-boomer reference. The rest of the world calls it "decaf."

  • What'd he say at the end?

  • While the initial RAM installation may not take long at all, depending on the system, the Vista installation takes up some time too. (The Windows guy did say he was also "upgrading" to Windows Vista). Granted, it may not take 3 hours (again, this depends entirely on your system and which Vista you are installing) it may take a while. It's a hyperbole.

  • Comment removed

  • Which is why I stated, "It's a hyperbole". It's the aim of commercials. Try to make any other competition look bad so you will buy their product. This is either parodying that or it could also be mocking how doing things in Windows might be a hassle.

  • Keep in mind that while it may have taken less than 45 minutes for you, someone with a slower computer (for example, one that is not Vista certified) may experience a longer installation time. Since it installs from a DVD, the read speed of the optical drive plays a large factor, as does the speed and condition of the hard drive.

  • For installing ram? hahaha youre and idiot, so you say you intsall ram through the dvd drive? hahahahaha

  • What the hell are you talking about? I don't think you've ever even opened a computer, or can even tell what ram looks like...

  • Agreed-- I should have a stopwatch on me the next time I do it, just to see how quick it is

  • LOL HOLY SHIT

  • I did it at age 8, my dad taught me.

    It ISN'T hard, you're right.

  • Hey! :( It doesn't take three hours to install a ram card. x[

  • RAM card!? Insane?

  • It doesn't even take 5 minutes to install a stick of RAM o.O.

  • it takes 5 mins (at most)

  • true :D

  • that sounds like an enviable combination :O

  • I want some.

  • This is one of the most hilarious videos I have ever seen! Chris Elliot is a genius!

  • I have both. Does that mean I have small and big penis?

  • nice XD

     windows in a bad day...

  • Cabin boy was good. This sucks.

  • You really have to think about getting a life. You are obsessed and incredibly childish. You should consider getting psychiatric help before it's too late. You are obviously a very lonely little guy with no friends.

  • The same reason why its funny in China, Japan, Mexico, Afrika, Deutchland, Iriland, Britania, Scotland, France, Italia, Russia, Austrialia, Brazil, Cuba, Finland, Spain, Korea, Thailand,.......
