@HannaBoyOD Wilt would literally dunk from the Free Throw line every time he had to shoot a free throw. Insane. For his career, he shot 50% from the line - if they let him, he would've dunked every time for his free throws.
Coach, I understand where you're coming from but during the 70s, Kareem was bar none the best center/player in the L. Matter fact, KAJ won the MVP while avg. 26ppg/13rpg/4apg/3.2bpg on 58% shooting compared to Walton's 19ppg/15rpg/4apg/3.4bpg on 53% shooting. So no, Walton did not have the best season for a center. KAJ had about a couple of seasons of 35/17, 32/16, 30/16/5 and 30/14/4/3 that would blow anything Walton put up out of the water. I've haven't even gotten to guys like Dream and Wilt
@ea5t5ide21 Stats, especially from that era, don't paint an accurate enough picture. I'll have to do a breakdown showing Kareem from that era, as well as Wilt and Russell, and you'll see why Walton was better than any of them in his prime...
@bballbreakdown did you put the spin on the numbers yet? I'd be interested to see why anyone would think Walton's year or 18 months with the Blazers was better than any number of seasons from Kareem or Wilt. I'm extremely skeptical.
Now if you mean who was better in college that may be a debate (although I'd still disagree) but no player ever had a better season than Chamberlain in 1966-67. The closest is probably Chamberlain in 1967-68.
That was modern era ball and Wilt destroyed the league
