The best era of FILMATION...when they didnt reuse animation cels every 5 min like in He-man...which is sooo awful to watch now....Flash STILL holds up as fantastic animation! this and the star trek cartoon!

Somebody should do another Flash Gordon movie, with this as the theme obviously. With the success of a lot of the marvel comics movies in recent years nows a good a time as any. And Flash is just a normal guy in an extraordinary situation, no superpowers or any of that stuff.

Outstanding job on this video! I especially loved your including the montage of panels from Alex Raymond's comic strip used in the 1980 movie's opening credits. Were Freddie Mercury alive he'd probably approve of your work, after all he loved science-fiction art (tapping Kelly Freas to paint the News of the World LP jacket). Filmation did a fine job with this cartoon (heck, I didn't even mind Gremlin the baby dragon--but then I'm a Bat-Mite fan, too). Hail, Flash!

Great work. My 10 month old son and I like watching this clip. I forgot how much of a Flash Gordon fan I was. I remember reading the old comic strip and watching the old serials with Buster Crabbe on Channel 50. The kids nowadays don't realize what they are missing. (IMHO)

Queen and Flash Gordon; I remember the movie Flash Gordon, and it was good for its day. Flash Gordon and Ming The Merciless has some mythology problems, thus we see a lot of "flash" in gadgets, gizmos, and apparently some magic make their appearance in the Flash Gordon ideas. Ming the Merciless has come to represent the figurehead of the Beast of Society, that only consumes, pleasures itself, and Ruler of the Universe.

Precisely the cool thing about Flash Gordon is this idea that you dont need superpowers to change the world, but will, honourability, and teamwork. Thats all about it.
