that's right An SG 175b, most people at the time were convinced it was an SG2000 like me so I bought one, Mine is a 76 and off the first run with the serial 001403 only the ones before 79 had a ofne piece neck, brass sustain block and were called SG after 79 when gibson made them changed to SGB and had pull push pots.The SG2000 was the production version of carlos's I've posted a few videos a couple are with some of the same effects he used at the devadip period and thu a mesa boogie dc3

It ia a Yamaha.I have no clue abot the model or series-There are friends who kow more.The guitar was made for Carlos.And when he tried it...No. Like a toy guitar.The one given had no weight so Carlos suggested the Yamaha to put a chunk of metal inside...this is true .....and I be damnrd if there is not a chunk of metal in every Yamaha electric guitar.

I heard the entire evening "live" on February 22, 1977, including Santana's special guests, Tower of Power and Gato Barbieri.

I am uncertain of the model of the guitar, but I believe it was specially constructed for Carlos by Gibson. A definitive answer would be appreciated.

@3gviii Hi, the guitar he plays in this clip is a Yamaha SG 175B, his main guitar from 1976 until 1982, when he switched completely to PRS. The Yamaha SG 175B was built especially for Carlos and was inspired by the design of the Gibson Les Paul but had better sustain.

@3gviii  the guitar is a yamaha. made for santana. from their well known sg series sometimes known as les paul killers. (i'm not saying i agree with that but they are extremely high quality)
