  • Totally ruined by the music.

  • I hate when Youtube uploaders are so egotistical that they think everyone will instantly like their own personal favorite music just by watching their video.

  • @The360Zombie My "ego" had nothing to do with it. The song lyrics match the video content. If I knew a better match I'd have used other music instead. I can't think of any other songs about Medusa. Do you know any? I like the song.

  • @lycanthrope069 Don't change the song, get rid. Leave the original movie sound it will be much better. Do you ever watch movies on TV without the sound on?

  • Why does everybody in the comments hate Metal?

  • Moronic 'music' on youtube videos...grrr

  • nice video but horrible song!!

  • SOS EL MEJOR HARRYHAUSEN TE QUEREMOS

  • can we see these kinds of RPG movie anymore?!

  • Cryptozoology novel see video book trailer

  • eye poppin special effects of the past.... amazing work.........

  • Amazing special effects!!! Now, I prefer much more stop-motion, than CGI! That's genius, Ray Harryhausen!

  • i have the movie jason and the argonauts i like the parts of talos and skeloton fight since i was 5 and i still do

  • those harpies are sitll the scariest i have ever seen. they give me the real creeps.

  • monster from malcom in the middle

  • esta bueno, fantastico yahhh

esas pelis eran de las mejores..

para mi aun lo son, y aguante su creador =)

  • bad ass song, bad ass video i love rays work and this is my favorite anthrax song ty

  • i myself animate stop motion and i always watch his movies as inspiration

  • Ray Harryhausen Totally Rocks,I like his work much better than the computer generated special effects that they use these days.

  • One of my favourite Harryhausen FX sequences is when Tom Baker brings the homunculus to life using his blood in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, I love all of Harryhausen's work though.

  • @richwicz i loved the khali statue coming to life in that movie, wow so impressive great stuff :)

  • Big Ray fan, many thanks for posting.

  • I usually hate tribute videos with rock music tacked on, but Anthrax actually makes sense here. Plus, I love the way yo sync the music with the video at 4:21!

  • Thank you. I usually hate mashups too, but I always thought this song and Clash of the Titans should go together. This is the only mashup I have.

  • really cool man! i really mean it FANTASTIC!

  • Comment removed

  • thank you

  • This gentleman did not even have computer

  • Anthrax...Nice!

  • The original 181 'Clash of the Titans' is much better than the 2010 remake...

  • Ray was the best and still is.Great vid man

  • I think it's safe to say that movies wouldn't be the same if it hadn't been for Ray. I doubt the fantasy genre would have been so successful without his amazing cutting-edge work.

  • I'll take Bernard Herrman's music over this drivel anyday.

  • That's one faggy metal song... couldn't you have put Slayer or something (if you have to put music over it at all) *imagines mullet vixens with v guitars flying about*

  • Awesome scenes, very fitting soundtrack...

  • Who did the soundtrack for this video... Beavis and Butthead?

  • great music for great movies !!!

  • @manudelval Are you nuts? Grow up.

  • These scenes are great, the music is not.

  • thank you, what a great video!

  • awesome!

  • cool

  • I wished he could have worked with George Pal on a movie or two.

  • there is no doubt in my mind that ray harryhausen made some of the greatest fantasy movies ever made

  • i still get the creeps when that statue looks down, and i'm always in the living room! :O

  • Ray Harryhausen does indeed rock. Nice work.

  • FANTASTIC******

  • Thanks!

  • @lycanthrope069 i agree with you,ray harryhausen is a legend which never die.he had the best stop-motion effects ever made

    RAY HARRYHAUSEN ROCKS

  • Jason and the Argonauts was my favourite, the end is great

  • at 1:28 "You've got Harpies!"

  • :) That's funny!

  • @huttwigley yeah...very funny :D

  • Shame about the terrible music!

But Ray is a living Legend!!!

  • Ray's work is unparalleled. Up to this day I'm impressed by his works, and no CGI crap awes me the way his animation does. It's difficult to say which movie is my fave, but I'd say that Clash of the Titans and Sinbad movies are the top ones.

  • @zenitpro Hell yeah! I've always hated cgi. Stop motion skeletons rock!

  • @zenitpro Well, opinions are opinions. I'd rather have today's special effects and yesterday's acting, but it seems we can't have both. You see, the Golden Compass is all about special effects, and the characters and acting are terrible.

  • @zenitpro no forgetting jason and the Argonauts

  • "Clearly, your taste and intellect rises above your peers" Spielburg and many other filmakers as kids were very impressed by Harryhausen's work and learned from him. (Harryhausen did work in the first Star Wars.)

  • Spielberg and his 'socialites' were impressed as children, but they're children no more and they expectorate their love for Harryhausen by selling out to CGI garbage. They've murdered the art out of ignorance and greed. Also....Nooooo...you're wrong. Harryhausen never worked on Star Wars. Where the heck did you get that idea from? Jeff Rovin? If so, punch him in face cause he suckered you out of your wallet.

  • Great job! Just did a podcast today dedicated to Ray's work!

  • muito bom mesmo

  • Nice tribute. Don't think Harryhausen would have approved of the music though.

  • great film

  • Amazing talent.x_x

  • Clash of the Titans is my fave. When Perseus goes after Medusa, thats my fave part.

  • Love that movie. Got the DVD. :)

  • im only 12 and i collect all kinds of old movie monster stuff, and i have the ray harryhousen set of movies and i just watched my favorite Jason and the Argonauts!

  • Wow! My kids REFUSE to watch "old movies". They really don't know what they're missing. Clearly, your taste and intellect rises above your peers. Thanks for the comment.

  • is that Anthrax? cool song, Medusa

  • Yes, Anthrax (circa 1985) with Joey Belladona on vocals from the "Spreading the Disease" album.

  • (^ nice. makes me think the stopmo group might want to see this

  • Would you consider doing one with Ray's B&W movies' scenes and, say, early Pink Floyd? THANKS! HARRYHAUSEN: LIVE FOREVER!!

  • I'm not really into mashups like this one. This is the only one on my page (and naturally it has the most views...grrrr!) Also not a huge Floyd fan. Don't hate them or anything, but I do think they're overrated. Just my opinion.

  • nicely put together with cool music.Ray Harryhausen is a genius.By the way,Pink Floyd? Not overrated, they are geniuses to the world of music,as Harryhausen is to the world of animation.

  • Awesome tribute.

  • the music works well with the vid

  • LOVE the video, and agree on your assessment of the legendary Ray Harryhausen, but the music just doesn't fit bro. Thanks for the vid though!

  • Yeah... you're not the only one who doesn't like the music. It's not for everyone, I guess. You're more pleasant about it than most, so thanks for that.

  • In my opinion your selection of music rocks. I usually don't like added music, but this is one of the rare exceptions when the music works perfectly, congratulations. Ray Rules.

  • 1:08 its like cloverfield lol

  • You know, when I saw that scene in Cloverfield I knew it seemed derivative of "something" I'd seen before but never made that connection until you said it. Awesome. You see? Ray influenced EVERBODY. :)

  • classic-anything done roght once - always done right!! real artist...highest regard!

  • Still cool as hell.

  • I loved these movies as a kid and they still are so cool

  • I wish ray had done beowolf.

then we'de have a good classic,

not a piece of trash CGI bore fest!

btw, he's one of my idols to! :D

    5/5

  • I haven't seen Beowolf yet but I'm not hearing good things about it. I'll comment again once I've seen it.

  • OKay, I saw Beowulf. I heard bad things. It didn't blow me away but I didn't hate it. It seems an odd choice to me that they took what is essentially a modern cartoon and made it adult oriented. My kids might have liked Beowulf, but I won't let them see it until they're older. For someone my age, a Harryhausen-style version would have been better, I think.

  • ''awesome! ray harryhausen= innovator, this is one of my favorite movies of all time.

  • fock ya!! :P

    Love Harryhausen movies.

  • 0.05 Talos!

  • For fans of "Old School" stop motion animation, check out my short film, "Googatz the Icky Man".

It is my homage to Ray Harryhausen and his classic animated scene of the skeleton fight from "7th Voyage of Sinbad"

Please watch if you desire, and leave a comment if so inclined. Subscribe to easterfilms and we will do the same.

Post a video response if you have an animated film to share.

  • clash of the titans... jason and the argonauts... hercules... all great movies- excellent selection

  • In college, (1979) I had a punk band named "Master of the Harpys". The name came from

    Jason and the Argonauts"

  • ANTHRAX!!!!!!!!!!

  • parabens pelo video muito bom

  • I wish I was bilingual because I have no idea what this says. If nice,... thanks... if NOT nice... no comment.

  • he said: congrats 4 da video, very nice done :)

  • Thank you!... both

  • Looks like the Artists who draw those Retarded Bible Tracts for Jack T.Chick Publications wank off to creepy monster Films like this!

  • Ray Harryhausen is a movie GOD!

  • great film!!!,,,I also watched it when I was a child,,,excellent!!...Medusa is the better part

  • great video. awesome video scenes

  • great vid! that type of art has been lost, with all the computer special effects, i'd love to see new movies with this type of technique...

oh, and the music rocks! what is it?

  • The song is "Medusa" by Anthrax

from the SPREADING THE DISEASE album

circa 1985... I believe that Corpse Bride was the most recent stop-motion movie made.

  • Hey lycanthrope, have you heard the latest from hollywood? Its offical they are going to do a remake of clash of the titans!!! Norrington, the director of the orginal wesley snipes movie Blade, has been signed on to helm the project! Cool! Im looking forward to it!

  • I've heard that for some time. I am skeptical about it but I'm keeping an open mind. After all... I was SURE that Lord of the Rings would suck and look how that turned out! :)

  • great compilation! thanx for sharing

  • i remember all of this movie when i was a kid.

it all gave me nightmers, and scerd the shit outa me

  • If I'm Ray Harryhausen, I'll say "You just ruin my entire work. Your music sucks!"

  • Thank you for your constructive criticism. I'll try harder to make my videos as good as yours. :) (NOTE: user HAS no videos)

  • Great video but I HATE the music.

  • Harryhausen ROCKS!!!!.

  • I liked the music!

  • talking bout fags... take a fuckin look at the mirror!!

  • Harryhausen rocks!?...why not!

  • THis is AMAZING! My 5 year old son also loves this! Wow! Harryhausen was one of a kind! Hats off to you!

  • He IS one of a kind. The legend lives. He retired after Clash of the Titans but he's still around. Did you catch the name of the night club the monsters hung out at in Monster's Inc.? Harryhausen's I'm amazed at how many people missed that tribute.

  • Im a fan of Ray's work 2. But yr video lacked other films/monsters he provided 4. Then again i take it that JATA and COTT are yr 2 favorite Harryhausen films?

  • I used these because they were loosely based on Greek Mythology and the song was about Medusa. My 2 fav Harryhausen films of all time are Jason and the Argonauts and It Came from Beneath the Sea. Other tribute videos show other monsters, and one of them shows them all.

  • Ahhhhhhhh very clever. Yes the 2 wer based on mythology. Yeah i can see what u did. Very clever video. My favs are JATA also and 7th voyage of sinbad.

  • I got that in my Netflix queue. I've seen it but it's been years and years and years... I scoped out your channel... love the Godzilla clips.

  • Who is the beutifull actress that appears in 03:32 , 03:40 and 04:28 ???? She looks great..

  • Judy Bowker

  • Great video, but the music is CRAPPY!!!

  • While not responsible for the music or the video (I didn't create either one... I only put them together), I enjoy both. While the song my not be to your liking, you have to admit, it IS topical.

  • I loved the sinbad movies as a kid. The skeletons jumping out of the fire was awesome for me.

Thanks for sharing this. Been along time since CGI have I retrospec this stuff.

  • clash of the titans! cool. one of the first ever movies I saw on VHS format.

  • this movie is great. lol@sexy whipdance.

  • The kracken, Hydra, and cyclops being his best creations IMO. How I wish either hasbro or Mcfarlanes toys company obtained the license and rights to producing these 3 in the same scale as the colossal Balrog From Neca with full articulation and electronic roars. I'd snap all up them in triplicate in a heartbeat. Anyone else here share the same wish?

  • I'd buy them

  • Cool,Why not start up a petition to send to either company and beg them to make our 3 wishes come true! lol!

  • I found a Hydra model kit on the website known as "monstersinmotion" which,it is claimed by the staff who work there, was approved and highly regarded as exceptional by ray harryhausen himself!I dug another titbit of info in regard to the cyclops where the now defunt Icon replica company did a prototype of it,but sadly never went into full scale production

  • What do you think about Ray works on colorizing his own movies? There is two available now. She and 20 Milion Milles to Earth. Ray perssonaly participates the colordesign work, a creative work. SO the colors presented was his choice. He said that would had shot in color if the budget allowed back those times. Now he claims the films looks like what he intended originally.

  • I haven't seen the colorized versions but I'll look for them.

  • WAW this was unbelievable. The music suits it. Best Harryhausen film 4 me Jason and the Argonauts. Worst film One million years B.C. This was a FANTASTIC video.

  • one of my fav anthrax songs, awesome

  • Yes, he also did Sinbad and much more. I stuck with the "greek" movies because they matched the song. Anyone else notice that the club the mosters frequented in Monsters Inc. was called Harryhausen's? I loved that little tribute.

  • Brillant work! I grew up with Harryhausen's films, and he's still the best. Have you thought of putting the prodigy to some of this? it would be great! Well done again!

  • The prodigy? Not familiar with that.

  • You must have heard of the band the prodigy. Firestarter? Breathe? It would be great with the Jason skeletons, or the climax from Gwangi. Well done again!

  • yeah he did.

  • basically harryhausen was my child hero I've realized. he created all my favorite movie creatures and was one of the reasons I adored movies and special effects so much. I believe even by today's standards of amazing technology that brings things to life his creations still hold up well. did he also work on the sinbad movies? I think he did.

  • I love story greek video. thank you.

  • These mashups will live almost as long as the very Maestro's work! Keep up the fine job!

  • Awesome vid!

Too bad there aren't full shows of all of these..

  • Both movies are on DVD

  • That was awesome!!!

  • Thanks! I enjoyed doing it, I'm glad you enjoyed watching it!
