  • awasome!!

  • I loved everything miles did!!!!!!

  • mental challenge?

  • Sound like a school of nursery kids got their hands on some instruments

  • @MAADMO Sounds like you know NOTHING about music.

  • @MAADMO haha awesome

  • Miles was an individualist, who did not confine himself to the expectations of a given discipline.

He was the "Bruce Lee" of jazz, becasue he soought victory over conformity, and style was not his issue.

e wanted to master the unification of skill, into a non-art interpretaion of its own self. Like this or not, it makes its statment in that we are still debating its legitimacy forty plus years later!

    I'm cool with it, myself!

  • Shorter is inadequate in this BB sequence

  • @Dolorousness Sounds OK to me, quite "Dolphy like" early on, not sure that inadequate is the word heh? But maybe you've heard more than me and that's more than possible. Got me listening carefully that's for sure ...haha. Best wishes.

  • Excellent. Probably one of the very last times he had Upright acoustic bass in his group; by early 1970 Dave Holland was playing electric full time. The Danish TV crew forgot Jack DeJohnette's name @ 3:05

  • @egyptianminor Also probably one of Wayne Shorter's last gigs w/ the group -Steve Grossman might've already been playing some of the 'domestic' gigs.

  • @sidouang1 Nothing is free, only the air you breath.

  • his music from 50-64

  • in my opinion just saying but i like his other music. not the stuff he did from here on like kind of blue was geniuse. i think this music is overated for miles.

  • @sidouang pay for it then.

  • @sidouang1 haha its not free first of all, and second of all ...lol

  • @sidouang1 Yeah! Liberté c'est la merde, n'est ce pas ? It's pure horror! I feel with you! Ne bouge pas, mon p'tit ! É pericoloso, pazzito brutto! Alors: ta gueule et nique ta mère! Verstehßdudas?Glaubichnich! Zu beschränkt, wahrscheinlich WASP, kanns bloß Englisch, arme Sau! Lachmichschlapp!!!!

  • @sidouang1 then don't listen...

  • @sidouang1 That is because you are lost without rigid structure. When musicians know their axe, know the cats they play with and love improvisation they find new ways of playing old scales.

  • @sidouang1 dude! you are a lame mthrfckr

  • @sidouang1 this is Dr. Sigmund Freud.....let it go

  • Not mine kind of music - but I love Miles in 50 -60

  • Essa é Bebop Purinho....

  • Thanks, this video is not poisened by adverdts, keep it so, I say.

  • More like a jam session, time is real slow and everybodys doing there own thing seems.

  • chick corea!

    dave holland!

no idea who the drummer is, shit better cut back to miles

  • DeJohnette....master of snare

  • I got 99 problems and the "Bitches Brew" aint one

  • Where's the autotune?

    I kid of course.

  • @Bergstaller01 that's why the kids today don't hear this, it has sub notes that autotune cannot compute.

I think that's why a lot of chicks don't dig miles too..a few do, but not many.

  • @oatstao One Chick who did dig this: Corea.

  • @oatstao Miles Davis himself said if you are playing a gig and you look around and it's all dudes and no chicks, your music is dead. I doubt he ever had that problem.

  • Miles was soooooo bent....

  • I love it!!!!!!

  • And Chick on the keys!!!

  • I agree..

  • why aren't the other videos from VEVO or what the fuck is this idiot that puts two and a half minutes jazz videos on line. You may keep them where the sun don't shine or watch them your self and you might learn that jazz makes no sense in two minutes. this post is about the VEVO versions of this concert wich are only two and a half minutes each

  • 御存知,Jazz界の帝王マイルス・デイビス!!!

    upされた御方に感謝致します。

    Miracle Music!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • isn't it Chick on keyboard?

  • killin solo from Wayne!

  • This album and "Trout Mask Replica"....masterpieces.

  • @79dougb te creo muy buenos discos los 2 ,,mucha imaginacion ...very good ,,,,

  • @79dougb You forgot "Kind of Blue"... or did you not mention it because it is a music bible

  • But that's uh Captain Beefheart not Miles...God blesS both their spirit

  • @HellzSmellz

Yes, but both similar in their impact on music.

  • @HellzSmellz But that's uh both very creative and free music...Don't make a mesS of your comments. :D

  • Jazz moderno purissimo dalle sonorita' smaglianti e trattenute insieme...

  • 8 people are bitches. . . . . . BREW ya i dunno

  • @Eaglessharp tu n'as rien compris. on fait toujours quelque chose pour soi et éventuellement les autres aiment

  • so think for a minute about Louis Armstrong. He was the originator of everything you hear today called popular music. all he did was not follow the flow of what everybody else was doing on a song and it all started

  • I have listened to Miles from when I was in the womb to now. Other musicians are great but Miles was the originator of advanced jazz as we know it. Like Hendrix is the original rock guitar soloist because he was the originator of what he does. playing with them was like taking an advanced course in music developement.

  • i am so glad so many of you like this music but you have got to under stand what you hear is the creation of a type of music from the mind of MILES DAVIS. he created so many types of jazz that (and the great musicians agree) he was considered to be a god.

  • Holy shit, I didn't realized he's playing with Chick Corea in this video!

  • @tofusauce Totally blew my mind as well!!!

  • where is the album and dvd for this? i gotta find it to get an official copy. this is one of the best, if not best live performance i've ever heard.

  • swag

  • Bitches Brew is from the future.

  • All legendary, monster players,,, Great performance! where are we now 2011,,, this is 1969,,, go figure,,, most people don't even understand get it now,,,, answer??? Timelessness!!!! truly a gift to those who travel inwardly,,,,,,,,,

  • Miles Davis was the greatest musician who ever lived- in any genre.

He moved with the times but still kept his personal style and never became outdated or pathetic- look how this band went on to great individual careers and are all now eder statesmen of jazz themselves

  • Back then we didnt have stereo's. All of my friends fathers had these mono systems with amplifiers with tubes and big gigantic speakers that would blast the entire neighborhoods. it was wierd but man we didnt have stereos back then. yet we could play beatles, davis, hendrix, deep purple, zepphlin, zappa, you name it. but it was a wonderful time. thank god for the music gods :).

  • ah...a vevo-less experience....aaahhh

  • This album makes me feel claustrophobic, free, happy, sad, calm, energetic and and peaceful... All at the same time, it's the only album that can do so for me.

  • I would love to smack the 7 dumb asses that voted dislike

  • Many people do not like the idea that we can define what is music and what is not, but I think we really ought to, in order to defend real musicians against fakers, who are overwhelming taking over these days. Music either has to create a sensual harmony of some kind or represent feelings. In either case there has to be some kind of holistic positive effect. Most pop music these days has neither, and is just about making money, not baring the soul or making harmony.

  • @elgaed69

I could not agree more. It's about time people stop using the whole "music is subjective" excuse. Sure, it's not a competition, but that doesn't mean it's just noise -- which calling it "subjective" implies. Some noise is called "music," which is not the case, of course.

  • it's a king of art-music where he is using strange, dissonant melodies to represent his feelings and emotions. many people do not get that because to them music can only be about pleasure. but music can also be a representation, like art.

  • this song doesn't have a key, but still sounds great

  • You why its called 'Funnel Cake" all that batter goes through a funnel to make it. Bitches brew was the funnel that greats went through. That album restructured what was already if that makes sense. It modernized modernity. It was the shit! : ) To be honest...when I first heard this album...due to crutch...I thought I was going straight to hell! hahahaha Music and art is the trip for reals!

  • 6 bitches don't like it

  • @MrVelsan77 LMBO!!!!! :- )

  • @MrVelsan77 can be gay also.......

  • it's pure acid jazz!freakin' out....

  • Poor block on Chick X-/

  • this LP did take some getting used to. After several listenings and trying to figure out everything going on, this is a contender for my all time favorite. I guess it would be a toss up between BB, Sketches of Spain, Coltranes Blue Trane, and Herbie Hancocks Headhunters. And they all sound so much better on vinyl.

  • @rebel7900 yes it was the 1st music of the sort i'd ever heard, painfully dense at 1st, almost to the point of not liking it - but i couldn't stop listening for some reason. then i gradually started hearing the relationships between the musicians under the coagulated mass.

when i 1st bought the performances, i had to listen in bits at a time until i could hear the whole thing

  • If you like BB ,check out Herbie Hancock's Crossings

  • @Eaglessharp I love it when musicians forget about the audience. It's so much more creative at that point. Fewer inhibitions. Just like I'd much rather hear someone casually expressing their opinions, as opposed to hearing them being interviewed. More honest, perhaps...

  • @thetopface Than you would love Toshinori Kondo. I'm sorry. Your comment is 3 months old, but perhaps that doesn't matter :) Music is too important. Check him out if you don't know him. You'd love his kind of honesty.

  • @texasB666 Thank you. I always welcome recommendations :) I'll definitely check him out.

  • @thetopface you're welcome :) Kondo collaborated with DJ Krush. Awesome stuff!

  • whats not 2 like? :-)

  • 5 ppl suck total balls

  • Miles played according to his pleasure if it was yours too this was art.

  • this is art.....a true reflection of one's soul and deepest emotions.....Miles was and always will be in a different frequency and dimension....just an overwhelming desire to unleash his passion and crossover to different realms....definitely amazing and mind boggling!

  • Is this real or is it one of those "..shreds" videos...?

  • @stevesan Haha this is real.

  • shiiiiit i wanted to hear chicks solo!

  • Jazz is the teacher

    Funk is the preacher! :D

  • ...you're right! This music was not created for a particular audience, it was created for its own sake, that's why it's still relevant 40 years later!!!

  • @Eaglessharp not sure if thats a bad thing, one of the worst things, in my opinion, is dwell too much on what the audience wants, you lose artistic value and creativity when one tries to appease many, bitches brew is a song for musicians, jazz like this is not meant for everyone to listen to and enjoy, cheers!

  • This album is not "Jazz" anymore. Miles was exploring new areas with his music. This is a fusion of everything that had come to his musical consciousness. He was leaving "Jazz" behind and moving on ... to something else. Vive l'evolution is all I have to say.

  • @Eaglessharp If every true artist (by the term "artist" I don't mean, say, Kanye West) created their art with only the mass audience in mind, we'd have no Samuel Beckett, no Martin Scorsese, no Coltrane, we'd be so much the poorer. Your opinion, Eaglessharp is uneducated and ignorant and harmful to the future spiritual and intellectual well being of humanity.

  • @Eaglessharp correction, they played for musicians. Ever hear of Sun Ra?

  • the lack of john mclaughlin depresses me

  • from where miles came to this . always keeping up in the frame of the time.

making a living, creating the opportunity to be able to get people interested in this kind of sounds scapes, must have been so hard or has had such luck to be in the right place of happenings that made it possible for him to do what he saw fit to do . no way someone now adays that could get this sounds from the horn and create such a audience like he was able too .

  • 1969!! The ripples of the LSD scene were still bubblin!

  • I'm missing the Benny Maupin bass clarinet part.

  • its like Lego, but inside out

  • This album and his 'In a Silent Way' (1969) will always transcend time. You must try reading 'On The Road' (Jack Kerouac) while simultaneously listening to Bitches Brew; it gelled so well. I can still remember the scene where Sal is evading some cop at night with dogs barking - came alive thanks to Miles.

  • Had hard time getting to appreciate Brew- but didn't give up- Eased self in with 'On the Corner'- that was hard too- But then I loved it- and now I'm starting to love Brew- Can't explain- He gets to me- Feels like they're telling some epic story for the senses- On the Corner's like that especially- You can 'hear' Harlem people talking 'on the corner' of a street- Amazing drama of Laughter- curses- threats- jojkes- chit-chat- Kind of an opera without words

  • One has to approciate music from genius Miles and the likes of:

  • Two people got no soul.

  • hey man, anyone got the guitar tab for this.I fell down the stairs two weeks ago. was just like this. boom bah crash smack , mostly smack mind you.

  • @AustinMcsherry LMFAO excellent imagery and parallel.

  • nothing wrong with it that a good half dozen guitar solo's wouldn't cure! Joking!

  • I don't like it. Don't get me wrong, I love Miles Davis, and most of the musicians on this track, but it just seems like they just hit record and all started just screwing around. I'll give it the credit that it is music, and I thought it would be mega cool as a part of a movie score, but as far as actively listening... I grew weary of this pretty fast.

  • The Dark Prince at his best. Take a good look at his hands; not of this world. Many can have the technical ability but only few can have the dark and deep soul. RIP Mr. Davis. You were light years ahead of your time.

  • more like musical graffitti

    Ugh...

  • maaan i wanted to hear chicks solo

  • With this album, Miles was attempting to really push the parameters of jazz, much as the early 2oth C. composer (Schoenberg, Webern) were pushing their genre. This piece is just as important as any of their stuff was. Free form - but yet controlled with some great responses to each other.

  • along with "Call it Anything" this is the best band lineup ever!

  • chick's comping during shorter's solo is absolutely mind-bending!

  • Musical painting.

  • ..... this is magical! It's September, and I feel like I just had my Christmas dinner; that's how special this performance is, to me.

  • Pure genious

  • what a record! a masterpiece indeed...

  • That tenor sax player has his shit DOWN!

  • Bitches Brew is 1 of the most extreme albums of all time.

Amazing art was created on this LP.

And talk about ahead of its time.....I don't even think it has a time. Its in a place all by itself !

  • @xodusattack Bitches Brew is 1 of the most extreme albums of all time. yeah..

  • @xodusattack

Absolutely! And do you remember that the same artist did the Santana 'Abraxas' cover?

I wonder what would have become out of a cooperation of these two guys...

    Sadly, we will never know

  • Interesting to listen to this song with the fact in mind that Radiohead claims this album as a major influence for OK Computer

  • This type of abstract jazz takes some getting used to but I grew up listening to it at my dear uncles house when I was a child. While the adults were sipping scotch on the rocks and have intelligent conversations about God knows what. My cousin and I were running around getting into everything while Miles, Brubeck and Dizzy played in the background. Oh how wish for these times again.

  • @lmallen77 - sounds like my upbringing. Oh, the good old days!

  • @lmallen77 yea right you poser!!!

  • Birth of the Brew, but also, birth of Jon Hassell, who's been mining this vein ever since.

  • lonely people...
