I have the Canadian version version EXACT same specs. 9/10 can play almost everything great screen great everything. The only problems i have had is the durability.... its been in my school bag in a case and the plastic on the corner of the screen cracked and the aluminum dented on the side. gets a little hot when under a big load (what dosnt) and the fan is loud but these are very minimal problems and its a great laptop

@customizeism I got the same problem a while ago. What you have to do is download the newest BIOs. You can do that in the manufacturer webpage (in this case, HP), go to drivers and inform the laptop's name (dv7-6195) and then proceed to download the BIOS. After the update is installed, go to the BIOS and change Dynamic to Fixed, and you'll be able to run minecraft with the 6770M instead of the power-saving card.

Cons on this laptop are minor. NO blueray, the touch pad sucks for down scrolling. They need to work on it. It kinda over heats but point a fan at the back intake and its not a serious problem if your a gamer. The heat is only on the top left corner I assume that is where the graphics card it. 750GB of hard drive space is not much, but considering how cheap it is to store memory its not a real issue. Flash drives, SD cards, portable hard drives easily fixes that. This notebook is awesome

Hey man, I got this exact same laptop off ebay used for ~700 shipped. It'll probably arrive this week. However, I'm wondering...do these laptops suffer from the same dreaded 'unswitchable graphics' problem that plagues the latest Dv7 models? I heard it does. But supposedly there's supposed to be a BIOS/software fix for this released by HP this coming week. I'm not holding my breathe, though.
