I remember playing this a long time ago on a 286. Did you know there is a glitch which allows you to accelerate much faster (up to 255mph). With manual transmission, shift up and hold the shift up key and pump the gas. It will quickly accelerate and go up to 255mph and if you go over it starts from 0. :)

I played this game to death on my amstra PPC 512. CGA graphics on a 9 inch monochrome LCD screen with 1000ms of lagging motion blur, that's how I rolled! And yes, I tried to drive to the mountains and yes, the music was cool! And yes, when I played it on the schools computer with SIXTEEN COLOUR EGA I got a boner! (well almost!)

I remember doing some crazy time on this track - it was something like 57 seconds - the trick was to stay in 5th gear round the last hairpin. god I played this game to death!

The fun thing is when I played the game as a kid, I saw things in the shape of the maps. Brazil looked like a Jet-ski, Britain was a big headed bird (its tail is at the arrow), Monaco was a snake, Germany was a butt (sorry :( ), Canada looked like a seal, Italy was a sock, Usa was a lying dog, and Japan was like a flying seagull.

on PC, i found a great bug. While accelerating, hold the "gear up" key pressed, and sometimes release & press it again just after. You should not change gear, but your speed will keep go up. I reached 250 with the McLaren. At 256, speed returns to 0.
