Maher is right if he asserts that the average American is stupid and/or ignorant. However, the sad reality is, compared to most of the rest of the world, Americans are actually among the smartest, most highly educated and sophisticated people in the world. The number of dropouts is huge. Something that doesn't happen for example in Sweden or South Korea.
