  • those ugly magnifying windows are HUGE turn offs on a watch

  • Hey I just got one of these. How is yours holding up?

  • I always wonder what you should do with the box? I mean, some watches come with a packaging that's an artwork of its own, It's a shame to throw it away. Yet at the same time, I keep all of my watches in a drawer and just pick one out in the morning that matches what I'm wearing and it would be pointless to keep them all in their original packaging.

  • very nice watch... but can someone tell me if this watch worth it? I mean, if I like diving, long motorcycle travelling, camping, travelling... this watch can make the job done?? or is just an sport inspired office watch? what about the precision? quality movement, shock resistance?

  • @LOVE4SPEED23 This should be able to handle most daily duties but as a general caution, mechanical movements aren't best suited for motorcycle riding as the constant vibration will most likely affect them over time. But I do know people that do it and seem to be fine. Pretty much all dive watches of this caliber can handle both the work and play aspect of life.

  • Thanks for the video. Wish it were higher resolution, but it's one of the few on youtube so thanks for taking the time to make it for us. I'm going back and forth between this one and the Omega SMP 2531.80. I love them both, but I think I like the looks of this Tag better. Thanks again...

  • Really, really nice ticker man. Don't listen to the haters, they're just pissed they can't afford one

  • Awesome watch !

  • Pretentious

  • i love this guys accent. Great review.

  • @TeifiValley123

East coast accent: New York I guess

  • I wish i could walk into websites

  • @scouselad1991 You have to be pretty badass.

  • Good review--straight forward, easy to follow, and gives a good representation of what watches are like in the flesh. In regards to the helium valve, its only really necessary for saturation diving where you spend days or even weeks underwater with a decompression chamber. So basically 99.9% of watch wearers will never need this function and those that do, have dive computers. So basically it just looks cool!

  • what was the price for that one?

  • no taste.

  • Would you consider this automatic TAG to be a better watch than a quartz Omega seamaster ?

  • Are you left handed? Not very often i see someone right handed wear it on their right wrist as i do. The wrist of kings.

  • some says after one and more years of using this watch appears problem with water resist. do you hear anything about??

  • @nedlitzer Do you think that rubber seals will last for ever? Sure they won't, especially if you using it often in solt water. They need change in some period.

  • How accurate have you found the Cal 5 movement to be?

  • After watching this several times, I purchased my own...thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • The movement is not I repeat NOT ETA .. it is Sellita SW200 .. Even so the only thing wrong with this watch is the pins on the band .. Screws would just be the topping

  • Great review! I bought this watch in Nov 2010. I wear it every day and it is a fantastic watch! Paid 3142 USD but this is only because my national currency is so strong compared to the US Dollar at the moment.

I have got superb service and support from my dealer. My son will probably inherite this watch from me when I am lying on my death bed.

  • That's pretty much the same box as the Swiss Made GC 35502G1 wich I have.

.. The Tag Heuer is an beautiful watch, but far too expensive if you ask me.

  • I bought this watch from Bloomingdales for a 20% discount--with full warranty--and boy did I ever need it--send it back 3 times already. These watches are not what I expected quality-wise. I would put this watch somewhere BELOW my ebels, auto movados, SWI limited editions, Longines hydroconquest in terms of quality. I wont even bother detailing the problems this watch had, but they were all movement related and just recently the rubber strap detached from the end link.

  • hi, i just bought 1 for 1,699 US dollars. How do i know if it is original?

  • Liberace fanboys wear Rolex.

  • my grandad gave me a tag watch when i was 15 an i didnt even know it was really expensive an just used to casualy wear it to school an when doing things like sports(doh!) eventually missplaced it an then found out years later it was thousonds of £££ gutted lol.

  • Hitler always wore Tag Heuer...

  • @kukenimunnen How do you know that? Did your mom tell you that after she slept with him?

  • Hi. Thanks for all the great reviews on your watches. I have quite a few watches myself. Actually somewhat of an addiction. I must say I like many of your other watches better. This particular watch is at the top of my price range and I'm not sure it's enough watch for the money. Do you know anything about the Tag Formula watches?

  • I have the original and I love it but ... I was also given a replica to test that someone swore blind was as good .

Sadly the replica is exactly the same in every respect and I as an engineer wanted to rip it apart and show the faults .. I could find NONE .. I have no doubt the SS is not as good ( even if it seems as good ) and the materials may be of lesser quality ... HOWEVER at 250 USD I beg the question where is the money spent on the TAG the movement in the copy is EXACTLY THE SAME.

  • @adswu2008 you should do a video and show this.

  • @adswu2008 its not even close, its fake, your delusional

  • @midcitygym what is fake ? The movement Tag fit or the watch they make ? ..The definition of fake is not original .. what have I posted that is not original .. Who is delusional ?

  • I have the blue face version of this watch. I am very happy with it.

  • a 2500 dollar watch and a 20$ camera, quite matching, eh?

  • Great, review. Just bought one Saturday in Blue!

  • Some of the best watch reviews on the Internet including this one!

  • nice one,thanks.

  • Just get one its great looks the don very happy well done Tag five *****

  • How do you get money for all those very expensive watches ?

Very nice review . Good video. Keep it going :)

    Greetings from Poland

  • get a life people!- it's just a watch.. and a fine one as well..

  • Nice watch...but my Seamaster Professional kicks it's ass....lol..in my opinion..

  • Rolex Submariner/Omega Seamaster rippoff

  • Comment removed

  • @GLIveeDUB How could i not like the watch if i dont watch the video stupid?

No I wear an Omega Seamaster.

And both Rolex and Omega introduced their diving watches before TAG Heuer. = Rippoff

  • Comment removed

  • @Chemicalpneumonia So all other Diver watches that came after Rolex and Omega are ripoffs? Hmmmmm

  • @Chemicalpneumonia

    How do you know this?

  • @Maxseven777 Everyone knows this.

  • Nice job with the review Doug! Looks like I'll have to pick one up when I get back home, starting to get bored with my Oris...

  • Great review of the watch. I have an Aquaracer Automatic and I cannot figure out how to manually wind it! My watch is "dead" and I cannot get it to start no matter how long I wear it. I have an automatic winder, but it doesn't seem to work either.

I purchased it from Amazon last year. Since they are not an authorized reseller, local Tag stores won't touch it. I put in a warranty request this morning, but thought I would check the net before I sent it in.

    Any ideas?

  • @spdaly When you unscrew the crown to 1st position turn the crown clockwise to manually wind it. By the sound of it your watch is in serious need of some work. The AD that you take it to should still work on it regardless of waranty. The work will just come out of your pocket. Good Luck

  • great watch...i had 2 Tags and going to buy my 3rd..aquaracer are def an option

  • Nice review as always Doug. I suppose that is the Calibre 5 Automatic 500 M . I recently bought a black Aquaracer Calibre S , 300 M , with retrograde date with a perpetual calendar to 2099. Cost me about 1800 Euros . Now I'm looking for an every day G shock to do the dirty job . Keep up the good work

  • hey doug do u know the price difference between the quartz and automatic?

  • As a reference point, what size is your wrist?

  • I just bought this watch on Mon, and I love it! It looks so good in person the pictures/videos don't do it justice. This is my second Tag and so far my favorite of all Tag models.

  • Helium release value is used for saturation dives. The Helium gas compresses very small and can get into the watch. When you ascend back up the Helium expands inside the watch and will pop the crystal off.

  • Too late, already got one. Its my second Rolex and I could not be happier and stand by my opinion of Tag being a total POS. Sorry fellas. Its my experience with it. Talk to me after owning it a while. As for it not being real MrBene...get a life. Ya, I'm sure it was fake...just like my MB is fake and my Ducati. D bag.

  • Great review! Is the bezel a 60- or 120-click?

  • Very nice review DougFNJ. Although this watch is to big for my wrist, I do very like the details such as the TAG Heuer-logo and the stripes which are very minimum on the 'older' Aquaracermodels (I have the WAB2010, nice watch)

At 4:43 you say the movement is an ETA 2827. It is actually a 2824-2, although some resources say it's an ETA 2836-2 (which I doubt).

  • @DasBootU96 actually the movment is a Sellita SW200 based off of the ETA 2824

  • @GLIveeDUB

That's absolutely not true. TAG Heuer has never used Sellita-movements. Oris uses the SW200 in their divers, not TAG.

Several sources on the internet say that this is an ETA-movement.

  • Comment removed

  • @DasBootU96 Well you dont know what you are talking about. The "sources" that you claim are wrong. Any good forum or actual "real" enthusiast will tell you its a SW200 movement. I know this because I own this watch and it says SW200 right on the movmement below the balance wheel. Get your facts straight before you come in with your 2 cents. TAG only used ETA 2824 for preproduction models thats why all of the pictures on the internet show a ETA movement.

  • I have this watch with rubber wrist, it's a beautiful timepiece.

  • Lost crown??? At Tag? never heard!!

i agree to doug, if its genuine, it will be fixed on warranty. But i doubt about its genuine. Maybe u better buy a real one!!

Today the fake ones are made such good u dont recognize it at first sight. Perhaps u got fooled.

  • Dear Mr. "assdeodorant", look here son, go on EBAY and buy my POS with missing crown (#130364383193) b/c some day when you can afford one, it will break and you will need it for parts. Now, why the hostility & bitterness? Don't be mad you can't afford one, its not that good of a watch anyways. Or, do you own one? Sorry to hear, someday you can buy a real watch one you get a real job kid. PS, its a Times that had held up better and longer then my Tag.

  • Well whatever you do don't get a Rolex. It's just an over priced mass produced piece of shit. Go Zenith at least they do their own movements.

  • First of all....this watch just released Spring of 2009. I'm surprised you had a problem with LVMH, they are pretty reputable regarding Warranty work. If it's out of Warranty, crown repair is fairly inexpensive.

  • @michalikpiotr1 the crown things a really big problem on all tags at the moment, especially the F1. The chrono buttons fall off carrera's as well. Tbh I'm with you, totally disappointed, seems like they're trying to spend as little money as possible, apparently using plastic in their movements now? As for this watch, it seems to be a nice build and a good looking watch, feels nice on as well but i definitely prefer the older aquaracers, they go forever!

  • the 'crown thing' hasn't been a problem on my 3 tags. i have the f1 alarm too. i've had a old link for 20years and no part of it has 'fallen off.' nonsense

  • @michalikpiotr1

My tag heuer link works perfect for 10 years now. All I've had to do is change the battery every 3 years or so(its my only quartz nice watch). IMO Tag Heuer is a quality brand.

  • @michalikpiotr1 Where's the video?

  • how big is the besel mm

  • your left handed

  • This is a very nice watch. I got one for Christmas and I love it. I have the Stainless steel with the rose gold bezel. Does anyone know if Tag Heuer has ever or ever will produce an all black watch. Thanks and have a happy new year

  • I have the Tag Heuer Formula 1 Grande Date (model no. CAH1012). It is the blackest Tag watch out there. It is my third Tag and my favourite. Check it out.

  • @JarvisMod Nice watch. Is the gold bezel solid 18k or plated? I am thinking about getting one, and I can't find out which.

  • @L8bro I believe its just plated. Ive never been a fan of the gold look, however this one is in rose gold almost looks copper. Its a sexy looking watch and very comfortable. Kinda big but still my favorite watch I own.

  • Thanks, JarvisMod. Well, another site somewhere said it was solid. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger anyway--based mostly on looks and price. Of the three other brands I've looked at (all more expensive), the black textured dial of the Tag combined with the darkish gold bezel just looks awesome. (And I usually l don't like the stainless/gold combo either). I think I'll go with the rubber bracelet...

  • Good reveiw. Think you just sold me a watch this one is what I am looking. Great service you provide they should comp you a watch.

  • Thanks for the review. Is the black rubber coating on the bezel hard-wearing?

  • Just want to say that the helium escape valve is used in the decompression chamber and not under water. Helium is a part of a gas mixture that divers inhale but it is small enough to enter the watch, which can break the crystal when decompression therapy stops. But I like your reviews a lot.

  • i love this watch! the design and size is all perfect.

  • Good review Doug. Tag def took some queues from the Seamaster. Cyclops takes away from the overall design imho.

  • I always enjoy your reviews, keep them coming!

  • Generally good review. Lacking in some detail and some wrong facts (i.e. it's eta 2836) about the watch. I would like to see more specs. Otherwise, great review and thank you for sharing it!

  • Thank you for watching and commenting, I could definitely stand to improve on my Analog reviews.

  • I've watched a bunch of your other reviews now. You do a great job and I really appreciate you posting these videos! We need more watch review videos out there. Thanks again.

  • @DougFNJ

I like the watch, and I liked the review. Thank you very much Doug, and please don't pay any attention to the nit-pickers and troublemakers. I have owned a Tag Formula 1 for 15 years, and after 1 just battery change it still looks and performs like new. Great vid and review! Regards Mike

  • @rtomson ETA 2836-2 to be exact

  • @precen Actually SW200 By Sellita

  • @precen I would add There is nothing wrong with the SW200 it is every bit as good and in fact in my opinion better that the ETA 2824 or any derivative of the 2824

  • @rtomson Its is NOT Eta it is Sellita I have one and the movement is 100% Sellita it says on the blank 26 jewels and it has the Sellita logo and SW200-1 NOT Eta .
