I came back from a frustrating session on pingles pool yesterday, however i was whistling and smiling and very laid back when i got home and i realised how relaxed i was and how being out there had affected me in such a positive way.

Great stuff as usual Steve. I have just watched and screamed get the Zig out on the Plateau! Interested to see what your next move is?

In my experience they very often foul hook fish and damage them, the fish swim into them and get foul hooked whilst investigating the bait no doubt, hence the large number of losses on the rig. I wont use them because of the above.

I did try a zig last time I was there but felt very uncomfortable about using it so withdrew it.

s'k mate I like to do the blogs but it is very time consuming and this ten minute limit on films is a pain.

I am editing part two now but its gonna have to be split because I really want to get in a bit of film about a coot!:)

I could cut down the amount of film by editing it savagely...

but like you say its ups and down's of carp fishing.

Thats what my blogs are about and I am glad you like them that way.

Alright Brian.

I expect to be back on abbey in the spring at some point and an invite will be forthcoming.

I have a syndicate water I am fishing and filming on at the moment the contains some real whackers. So I really need to make a little progress there first.

I might get down the lake on wed/thur to see if I can get one out in the snow!

Would fulfil an ambition of mine:)

As I said in the intro I had been side-tracked by a secret lake and its rarely caught inhabitants. If you want to see the written blogs for these fish then go to my website and look up 'Cambs carp' in the search box.

There are some really nice 35+ year old commons and mirrors, plus a fully scaled thats only ever been out a few times in 35+ years:)

My best fish of 2009 without doubt.
