I have been watching hockey since the sixties, and the only thing I never saw was someone take his uniform off a skate around.....everything else from going into the stands, fights during the warm up skate, kneeing, stick swinging etc has happened, and Im a BRUINS fan and saw it all from them, even a refeere getting punched during a playoff game...Terry O'reilly hitting Van Hellamond, this movie was right on, the greatest Hockey movie and one of the funniest movies ever!!!
we had a icehockey funtournament in school 1 year age its funny because the team was me my 2 brothers and some friends me and my brothers bought the 3 hanson shirts and glasses we won and we got a special gift because our kewl team shirts XD
My Father used to work at the Commack Arena when the Long Island Ducks and the Cougars, along with the New York Chiefs Roller Derby team Played there. I was in the Audience When Some of the players from the Cougars Jumped into the stands to fight with some of the spectators and a full riot broke out just like in the movie. That was almost 35 years ago and I still remember it like yesterday. It Was Terrifying
Mark Bousquet (Poodle) is one of the neatest people you will ever meet. I actually got to watch him play when he was a member of the 1976 Lockhart Cup Champion Philadelphia Firebirds.
Something you probably don't know folks is that in Québec the movie have been translated not into parisian french, but in Québec french canadian hockey slang. Wich is in fact the real language of hockey here. This way the moie got even better for us in Québec. And as you can see in the movie there is a lot of characters who areof french canadian origin
I love this movie. Cracks me up every time I see it. If I'm in a bad mood, I only have to slip "Slap Shot" into the DVD player and already I feel a helluva lot better.
this was the most honest movie of the 70s and so f---ing funny i am so proud my song right back where we started from was in this movie love and peace to all you guys who made this film you are timeless j vincent edwards writer
Man i played hockey for several years i lived off this movie lol and even at a young age i didnt see nothing wrong with it it was a movie about the sport i loved and i still love it...cant say the same about part two though

By far, the greatest hockey film of all time, but my biggest surprise: I didn't know Paul Newman could skate...
