  • Love it!! In fact we are doing this on 600+ acres. We are OneCommunityRanch (dot org) and are building a sustainable community with eco homes, permaculture, aquaponics, chickens goats, and sharing all our plans open source freely with the world to show a new way of living. We are accepting members to complete our pioneer team. Come to our site and see what we are doing. Really appreciate your video and message to the world- Thank you! Peace!

  • shared space part sounds scary

  • paradise!!

  • This. Is. Amazing. Why don't more people do this!?! Looks like peace. Utopia.

  • i love this...

  • Love your community family ideas. I have tried talking my own real family into purchasing 10 acres together for a similar idea but they just won't do it. :( wish we were as close as y'all are. Thank you for sharing your video. Your gardens are beautiful.

  • wow, money

  • oh my god i cannot believe this exists

  • nice place...but communal living, or even nieghbors closer than 3 miles is for the birds

  • very beautiful

  • beautiful home =)

  • this is the life!(-; U COULD EVEN DO IT WITH YOUR OWN FAMILY! (-: that is so totally cool i wish i was there. Love the creative freedom and dedications to each other. Does everyone help clean the house?

  • communism?

  • @stevencheng1988 it's just a lifestyle dude, you can still go to work and earn your million dollars.

  • @Soundgarden8497 I think what they've done is quite remarkable. I think their idea was/is to be as self-sufficient as possible. To get off the grid as much as one can.

Back in the day they called these "hippie communes". Today they are co-ops.

Whatever label you wanna use, they have accomplished something amazing here.

As our society moves toward the brink these people have made a stand toward

sustainability and direct living. I am truly awed at the their efforts.

  • @GM1258 i'll be living off grid as soon as i can, that's for sure.

  • thumbs up for you, u guys are great, what if i come to join you with my family,,,,,

  • beautiful!!!

  • These folks are amazing.

My hat goes off to them.

In a time when the world is on the edge of the abyss these people have

taken a step back to form their own little uptopia.

Become self-sufficient and you will have no need for "the system".

  • When I saw the one communal bath I pictured one of the hornier hippie guys tweaking the building design. On some level I think chicks that go live on communes like to be fought over by all the young bucks. Yay, it's sexland!

  • Fantastic!

  • So inspiring <3

  • I am just charmed - to the point of near tears. Though not inclined to over-romanticize living communally, how blessed all of you are to have (chosen) to be together for so long, raised children together, shared company, etc. Laughed about the "no meetings" in contrast to dinners. Most wise! At 52, I longed for all of this "forever ago" - likely still do. From a glance at the comments of others, I am not alone:) Thank you so much, Nikki, for sharing this!

  • Why wasn't I born into one of these families?????

  • Wow - what a wonderful way to live. I would LOVE to live like this. If I could find a remote group with high speed Internet and no other city "necessities" that would be perfect!

  • :43 - Holy shit, it's Larry Bird! And his twin brother!

  • This is why freedom is so important! People in America need to utilise it or the government will take it unaware.

  • what type of banana trees are those at 27 secs

  • Families live on the same property all the time and join their gardens. My husband's family does that. This isn't much different. Although, I would want my own bathroom and kitchen. Privacy means a lot to me! You at least got to choose who you would live with, you can't choose family.

  • Very cool. I don't know anybody I'd be willing to do that with.

  • This is so beautiful :) I have lived communally a lot in the past. Not often do you see a group/home as united and successful as yours. :) No easy task for most people.

  • Good gracious ! something $cant buy_now I witness human can really make it ! a open Heart is the base for a commune or whatever_u cant live together for one day without "unconditional accept"(called "Love")let alone 3 decades. it's a miniature of Christ spirit, sharing more and giving more than bottomless desires and gain.

  • thanks for sharing your home

  • inspirational!

  • this is so beautiful. there are no words to describe how beautiful their home is, and the land. i love it!

  • brilliant.

  • Yah! I love this! I even think the poligamy concept could work well, with the right people. My kiddos are grown now, I'm a massage therapist, so...I'm outta here,to find a new lifestyle. LOL

  • this is great

  • I live in GA, but i have 12 acres with a good sized pond in MS. I would love to start a community like this. Except I would not allow local utilities on the property. I love the idae of everyone building with the same outside material. All your cooking, heating and hot water needs could be meet by producing your own methane gas. I am not saying anything bad about what you all are doing, I love what you have done. I feel more people should do the same.

  • @robertsmi2 sounds good. you could have your property put into an unrevokable land trust to make the commune government proof. gas generators can provide electricity Real Goods catalog has a little device to put into a creek to generate electricity. also rainwater can be stored. obviously the land can provide much space for wholesome foods like apples, berries, and vegetables. free range chickens a perfect food source with meat and eggs its a low cost alternative to cattle.

  • I would love to live their

  • They should be vegetarians in a place like this and they should take away the dead animal skull from the garage wall.

  • @ublazzz what you mean is, they should start living the way YOU think they should...how silly

  • @warcat69 No I don't mean that I just mean that this is a very peacefull place so why not make it even more peacefull. Anyway that's a cool place.

  • VERY wonderful...

Gives me some more fodder for manifesting my own dreams of an eco communal situation on the north Oregon coast where I live...

  • omg! I want to live there!

  • @bedabug0 then sign me up!

  • I'm an Australian with a great way of life close to the beach in Bayside Melbourne. This way of life is refreshing to see & depicts a viable future....smart thinking in world dominated by out of control consumerism.

  • it's the social version of Communism.

  • What a wonderful place. And no meetings sounds ideal. $8 a square foot? I'm in!

  • What a beautiful place - why don't everybody wants to live like that?

  • Wow! $8/sq ft is impressive.

  • I hope this inspire young generations .....

  • I was so impresssed by how beautiful and inviting your home is. It gives me hope when i see things like this, sadly do not see them enough. Thank you for sharing this.

  • Very cool you guys. You have all done a beuatiful job.

  • beautiful

    We need more of this.

  • This is just amazing.. I wish I had something like this! Youre very lucky :)

  • lovely place! amazing that it only cost about $8 sq/ft to build -- diy and reclaiming throw-away pieces really can turn out beautiful results... as long as you have the patience to work at it :)

  • Your groups journey seems to have been really worthwhile and a blueprint for the rest of us, thanks for sharing

  • Gorgeous place, guys! The future of living, if you ask me, although it might take a while yet. Thanks for sharing.

  • If you're into commune living, check out this great flick, HAPPINESS RUNS. You can put it on your netflix Q or amazon.com it today.

  • i really loved it alllll <3

  • I loved watching this - would love to be apart of something like this... it makes so much sense.

  • Can you give a little more information on how you generate and maintain the wealth? Also, how do you allocate domestic chores to the members and on what basis is it decided who will do what ? And, last question, how did you manage to get permission to build on such a large space of land?

    Thank you

  • I love all the "There's No Place Like Here" Etsy videos! How amazing and uplifting...

  • This was such an inspiration for me! I have been wanting to do this and this video just showed me that it can be done. Thank you! Now I'm off to start my own!

  • beeeauuutttiful....

  • Nice to see how you just seem to have done it because you felt like it, no ideologies. Sounds easy when you tell it, but somehow it is real hard to find a plot and permission here in the Netherlands. Was it as easy as it sounds to get these?

  • This is very lovely...

  • ahh this is so awesome..it's very much like my ideal dream home/lifestyle. what a beautiful space too. yearns!

  • I LOVE this. I dont know how Id feel living with so many others, but it is a beautiful home :)

Why the hippie stereotype though? Can people not appreciate nature and help the environment without being stereotyped?

  • That looks so peaceful. I would want more privacy though.

  • i am secretly super submissive and attracted to YOU, big boy

  • they call this a cult where iam from.

  • just without the crazy cult part, they seem like nice people.

  • COOOL place..... Love it. so beautiful and real homely with such cosy feeling. Simply awesome.

  • their place is really beautiful. a lot of people do not understand what community is, i wish their was more places like this in the world.

one day i will have my own spot in the world something like this.

  • oh that looked so peaceful.

  • Man i would love to be in a community like that,i can fix anything.I bet the sound of rain on the tin roof sounds gorgeous im so jeleous!

  • My *only* complaint with Etsy videos, are they are not produced frequently enough. They should strive to create one a week, because there are tons of Etsiers on their site, to discover.

  • They're so lucky.

That's the way human beings are most themselves... when they're a family.

  • This place is so lovely. And not too far from my hometown!

  • Totally awesome, I hope more wonderful cooperative communities can develop :)

  • How wonderful!

  • How fantastic! What a dream come to fruition!
