why dont he use the engine-brake??? not very good, the motor gets hotter and bad lubrication... my k4 made 155 SAE rear wheel horses when I ran it in a dyno, standard but a yoshi can.
@lastbil1972 Dude it doesnt matter...the engine did its duty, its still getting proper lubrication. The only thing he may be trying to hide is the 'decel pop' that usually comes from 'engine-braking' and being too lean in the map.
@lastbil1972 well when my friends bike would pop on decel. he went in and richened up the low side of the map(high engine speed and lowest throttle position) and voila- the decel pop completely went away, it might be diff for that bike. idk.
.I'm currently in the process of putting a 04 1000 motor into a 02 600 frame.....04 swingarm, tach, full yoshi titanium, and ecu...should be a beast when it gets done

speedos are off alot of times on bikes... he proble was sproketed, not to say anything though, but it doesnt mater if u had all 6th gear left they are govern. (limited) to 184 or 185 mph... you can take that out but stock they are.
WTF a tho as a 1st bike, you will end up in a wooden box. Learn how to ride properly 1st, a 600 is more than quick enough. is a 165 mph bike not quick enough for you?? most tho riders ride like puffs because they cant handle it anyway
my old rider coach had a saying, if you weigh under 200lbs then you shouldn't get more than a 600 lol its all about clutch control. i rode a 600 for a couple months but the first bike im going to own is going to be a 1000 and i get it in a few weeks!!! suzukis gsxr1000 has 3 modes. A mode is 100percent power, B mode is 60percent power and C mode is 40percent if im not mistaken... if a 1000 is too much bike then just put it on a lower mode

agreed, all my friends got a 600. My first bike was a built board and camd cbr 900rr.. They were all so pissed when it came to race time. not to mention when i drove there bike it seemd like a scooter (r6) (gsxr600) (ninja 600) If your used to speed and can work a clutch fine get a 1000 take it slow and by the mid end of the week your gonna be fine,
also on a 1000cc bike like an r1 or cbr1000rr, you can stick it in 5th and cruise all day, if u want to get past traffic in a hurry u dont even need to drop down a gear. :)
of course 600s may appear slow in comparison, but 160mph is still pretty fast in my book, although theres also the way that power is delivered.
@srt4life20 Exactly. If you get a stock 1000 it's not going to amaze you in power unless the fastest bike you've ever ridden was a 250. Once you start modding them, then they gain a lot of torque and what not. But, since i've got the 1000, half my friend with 600s have traded in their bikes. True story.
@Kalustian7 where i live the road's are mostly twisty which makes the 1000's power advantage pretty much redundant in fact they hold up the 600's in the bend's ! plus i have owned larger bikes in the past first bike i had after getting my license was a ZX9R in 94 when i was 18 so i know all about the dynamic's of larger bikes including modern 1000's or busa's and the zzr14
A busa and what I think you meant zx-14 are completely different then a 1000. a 600s handling is barely any better then a 1000s. I would take the 50% power compared to a little better handling.

when i had mine done at Lagunas ashford, bout same time as the bike in vidio was being done, funny enough,, took my k4 from 159 bh to 169 bh with stubby scorpion can, like you mate got papers to prove it. had 191 still wanted to go faster, had R1 b4 this baby, thought that was good bike..... got nothing on the k4
Its not jus the bike its the rider aswel, i know a guy whos a really, really gud rider and he was on his 01 gixxer thou, there was another fella on a 98 blade wiv a pillion who was right on his arse all over the country roads. He was very surprised and said he would of had him if he was on his own.
Honda's never are top HP machines, but the powerband is much lower and usable. Who really cares about power that peaks at redline? Did the honda have more low end power? or did the gixxer just make more power everywhere???
K4 = 2004, the first year of the GSX-R 1000 was 2001, I don't think the all black was offered in the US, but I could be wrong. Beautiful bike...I can't wait to ride my K3 GSX-R 1000.
Any mods?? I got a k3 with pc3 usb, custom map, bmc race filter and an akrapovic can and on the dyno it done 150bhp. I'm interested to see where you got the extra from?? Still awesome though when you consider an 04 R1 could only manage 137bhp.

I had a 2004 Gsxr 1000 and in stock form it made 140hp at the wheel and please no stupid lame-ass comments saying that my bike had problems or the dyno guy didn't know what the fuck he's doing. I have the dyno sheet in front of the camera for proof!
