When I try to remove that part, only the left side comes off easily, the right doesn't budge... Thanks

There is a possibility to replace one keyboard with another. The ribbon cable must have the same exact data length. Another issue would be that keyboard has to have the same layout and hole configuration. I hope this answered your question.
