have you heard the bass in while my guitar gently weeps? its kinda tough to hear but its fantastic and its John playing. Im a bass player myself John was pretty sweet at bass, George too
John did NOT play bass on WMGGW!!! On the basic tracks Paul played the piano. Bass was overdubbed at a later stage(Paul) and doubled by George(guitar/power chords). From the major reliable sources available(Lewinsohn/recording The Beateles etc) John was not playing anything on WMGGEW. In fact he did not do anything on many of George´s songs.
Oh and don't get me wrong, I love The Rolling Stones and The Monkees but they just don't compare to The Beatles. BTW The Monkees didn't even write their own songs, they had people write them for them.
@Tarn1968 yeah the monkees where better than the beatles. jones had more imagination than lennon. As for Mickey Dolenz (!!) I don't think he could ever compete with the fact that McCartney was such a great songwriter, arranger, bass player and drummer. i'm not trying to take the piss, but I can't help it. I thought You Tube was supposed to bring like minded indivuals to gether. i'm going now, before I say what I really feel...
